@singh indian During Communist rule a lot of people from west bengal could not join in officer rank. They intentionally timed the exam and results in such a way to discourage begalis in west bengal from joining NDA, IAS service or for that matter any central government services of prestige. You can get into IIT or IIM if your 10th or 12 th grade is contested for couple years but you can not get into NDA. I know a professor's son. His 10th and 12th standard result was permanently incomplete. They did not even give an F so that he could retake the exam. Basically shattered his life. Jadavpur university's 4th class staff's association will randomly put grades in your marksheet. They marked me absent in partial differential equation while I actually got the highest mark. That is why some of the non unionized professors will show us the marks before they submit. When the grades don't match the numbers prof gave you, that will take months and years to fix. I have seen so many brilliant people's life getting destroyed. Many exceptional students became taxi driver. They permanently closed down the flying school in kolkata that had produced so many pilots. In our previous generation, a lot of bengalis was in officer cadre and specially in air force and in navy. Look at the list of martyred pilots in 60's and 70's you will see many were bengali. My chemistry professor in calcutta was a pilot before. My uncle was a Colonel. But I could not join due to circumstances. It was such a lock step. Don't want to talk about those times as they bring back bad memories of how we tried to get rid of this worst communist grip and finally fled as prominent members of our family were killed by communist cadres without justice. Being from a fauzi family we still are quite fit and most of us know how to operate arms even some of our females know at least archery and pistol shooting. Life sometime can be very tough and you cannot overcome vice grip of corrupt politicians running dictatorship and a brainwashed and coward population who has no spine to fight back. 70s and 80s destroyed everything good about bengal and calcutta . After downfall of bengal, from 90s south India became center of technology and education. West and north India got all the finance divisions as treasury of most organizations and headquarters of banks left Calcutta. You know the rest. Summarily, you will mostly find bengalis saying their dad or uncle had been army or navy officer or pilots but not themselves. it is not that they did not try. My son will hopefully join US marine or air force. West Bengal is an example of how socialism and communism destroys a great ethnicity from within. Some of the bengalis still have not learned anything. They have come from bangladesh losing all their wealth and modesty of their women but immediately after arriving in India most of them joined communist party saying bangladeshi muslims are their brother and hindu bengalis of west bengal are their enemy. They stayed with the communists even after communists killed 18 anandamargi monks in calcutta in broad daylight. Communists tortured Vivekananda's Ramkrishna Mission so much that RKM had to file for being a minority religion just to save their hindu ideal schools. CPM described IISKCON to be a CIA detective organization and these beggar Bengalis did not say anything. A slave who is happy being a slave will never become free.

India today is completely self Reliant in artillery technology from forging material to machining materials. And as far as Israel gun system is concerned, the project was started back in 2012 then Indian companies had no 155mm artillery to offer to Indian army. In 2018 end the Israeli company elbit declared as L -1 company but now Indian companies have come up with so many high tech 155mm artillery gun system that Indian government is thinking why should we give the contract to a Israeli company when a vast range of 155mm indeginous gun is available within the country ( but trade obligations can't be violated) . Do you know that m 777 gun will be using Bharat forge developed barrel for Indian and foreign markets ( barrels are the key component of a artillery system consisting 50% by value) . Bharat forge and OFB now do not want any foreign collaboration with any foreign country in artillery field as they developed superior technology then those foreign companies. And for your kind information the upgunning of M-46 130mm gun into a 155mm(sarang) gun is being done by OFB after winning the contract by defeating two foreign companies ( including the Israeli company) in 2018. OFB gun was only found technically superior then other two guns fielded by the foreign companies.

Metallurgy is one of the most demanded discipline sought by defense companies. From pistols to jet engine, this field covers almost every millitary equipment.

But now DRDO and Bharat forge have taken some steps to address the problem. And hopefully in next 10 years time india will come up with a advance kavery engine with 110 kn of thirst.
