DStv installation offers a great learning opportunity if you are a DIY enthusiast. You don’t have to sit back while a professional makes your dish installation and you can save some money. Lack of the required tools is a major problem for many people, especially the signal meter. If you don’t have a signal meter, you can still make your installation with this how to install DStv dish without meter guide.
. Press menu on your remote, there will be either satellite settings, installation, antenna settings, dish settings and anything that comes near to satellite installation and the dish installation as a whole.
. Look for satellite list and TP (transponder) list.Select Eutelsat 36 degrees East from the satellite list, thus the Dstv satellite. In case you can’t find DStv satellite, select any of the listed satellite. A) Arabsat B) Astra 2A 2B C) Hotbird. Add the DStv transponder (12245 H 27500, 11747 h 27500... etc).
. Get someone to monitor the signal strength and the signal quality. if possible you can bring the TV outside and monitor it yourself.After getting a stable signal, tight in the satellite dish and connect the DStv decoder.

Hi I am from SA I have a Dstv decoder 8s I did everything you said in the video to get networks but I cannot get a signal do I have to change other settings or what is the problem please

The fact that you tried everything, gladdens me; first of all if you rightly followed this video as you said, you would have gotten your answer. There are certain things to check before proceeding to track; example if your Lnb is okay or well connected? Is the coaxial cable okay or well connected? Check for obstacles like high rise buildings, trees e.t.c...... ? Are facing the right direction? I will advice you go over the video again and try.

Check to make sure the fault isn't from Lnb or signal wire before realigning your dish

@@mohra968 just an illustration on how to track dstv without a satellite finder; so we had to position the Equipments were we could see them. Another way would have been to get someone to be checking for you while you adjust the dish. I hope you do understand it now.
