This was absolutely helpful. I have just downloaded AnyRail and have been experimenting with it. I would really love to see more information from you Ron. I am modelling HO but it is very close to being the same except of course for size. Please do continue with your lessons on AnyRail. Fantastic job Ron.

Sir Ron, thanks for intro to AnyRail 6 and demo of N scale layout. HO scale is more common. Does AnyRail 6 have more accessories files than N scale? How about entering locos and rolling stock data to see fit and motion fluidity? Electric power schematic and placement possible? A finished layout animation would be optimal.

Ron, you do make some great videos. This is by far the most helpful for me on this software. You do not start out thinking that we have ever seen it or tried it. I have tried the free version and was getting frustrated. Now I see from you on where I was missing things. Please do more on this subject. If I get another windows based laptop, I think that I will go with this software now after seeing this very helpful video. You do have a gift. Thank you

Perfect timing! I'd been looking around for the best layout design software to help build my new layout, and had already come to the conclusion that AnyRail suited me best but, as others have commented, there's a distinct lack of "How To" information available so your tutorial is a good start and is much appreciated. I'm comfortable with the (very) basics but soon ran into challenges with yard design, elevations, multiple layers, 3D etc. And there's doubtless other Advanced stuff that I haven't even thought of yet! So, the more AnyRail tutorials you can create and share, the better; there's so much to learn. Just bear in mind that "Advanced" is a relative term .... anything beyond "Basic" would be a good continuation point. I should add that I've been following your channel for a couple of years and appreciate the easy, uncomplicated way you explain things. Keep up the good work :)

After more than a year of self-learning on AnyRail 6, the few minutes watching your tutorial resolved several issues I've had and shown faster, easier ways to do things. Since my layout highlights the differences in terrain the NYC, PRR, and B&O passenger trains encountered between New York and Chicago, I'm struggling most with transitioning smoothly between level track and the moderate to severe slopes encountered in the mountainous areas. Would love to see you create a tutorial on that.

I bought this and am starting to learn the software. One nice feature is there is a question mark all the way to the right in a blue circle. This brings up a browser to the anyrail website to the user manual. It was pretty helpful when I was creating a simple 24" x 48" set up with n-gauge. I went and bought it and then came back to make these comments. Thanks, Ron for making this and talking about this! This was really easy to use and I am getting better at it.

AnyRail is great. I used it to design my layout, selecting the exact type of track that I was using, even placing scenery elements from the libraries. Once the planning was done I printed it out to a full size PDF and took the file over to my friendly UPS Store where they printed the full size layout that I could take back home to use for laying things out on my benchwork.

You just sold me on this piece of software. I've been kind of looking around at the different programs out there to draw up the layout we are building. I always enjoyed seeing the drawing in all the magazines of layouts and wondered what most people are using. I hope you continue on with your series. I would like to see how you build the different levels in, and grades/elevations. Is there ways you can use this to draw and build control pannels for different industries and yards? I’m at the early stage of planning a multi-level layout. I’ve downloaded the “free” version to try out AnyRail and plan to buy the $59 version. This video showed me enough to get started. Now, I would like to learn to add height measurements and slopes for grades I will need for a multi-level layout.

I very much appreciated the Anyrail 6 Track Planning Software Tutorial. I am a long time train fan but now I am planning on building my own N-scale layout on 3 x 8-foot size. I would enjoy another tutorial video using Anyrail 6 software concerning grades as I plan to have a mining mountain at one end of my layout. I will be going from flat Dessert to a Mountain.
