Nice one! I have not used these particular plugs in this exact way……I have some other settings and use my Kemper lots….I was the bassist for Walter Trout for many years until 2015…..thanks man…..my 63 P Bass likes it

Hey man, Actually, I didn’t use it, but I very much could’ve (should’ve!) done. I’d try putting it in the Unison slot and then in the Insert slot and see which you prefer. Interested to hear about your thoughts if you do get a chance to try it! Thanks for watching, really appreciate it 🙂

Hi James! Thanks for another great video. Being a Bass player myself, I found this extremely helpful. Thank you. although, I was curious why you didn't use the 610-B in the UNISON Mode. Any reason?

Nice one, really glad you enjoyed it! I totally should've put the 610B in the Unison slot, it was a foolish mistake not to actually. So yes, definitely put it in the Unison slot if you try it :-)

This was great. This is sort of a beginner question but is there a reason the 610 was used as an insert rather than a Unison input?

It’s a very valid question. As it happens, I made a mistake there, it should’ve gone in the Unison slot! So definitely put it in there, you’ll get the best out of the plugin that way

Could you elaborate a bit more about the advantages of using two different compressor plugins?

Sure. One compressor catches the peaks and the other offers a general smoothing. I’ve actually subsequently found that putting them the other way round can work better; 1176 -> LA2a. So I would experiment with both ways and see which you prefer the sound of! Let me know if you find you have a preference
