PT2 video finishing up modifying my tractor bucket to have a skid steer quick attach plate. PT1 video on my channel shows how I converted my tractor loader from a 2 pin style, to the universal skid steer adapter.
This bucket modification along with the PT1 video of modifying the loader is save me so much time and headache. what used to be a 30-45min implement change now takes 10seconds

If its wood i can build it. I know nothing about steel but it looks like it would be neat to learn welding. Hopefully youll have time to shoot some more videos soon.

Good job. I have gotten in the habit of rounding off all my corners. Round corners don't cut thin skin as deep as the square sharp corners when you brush up against them.

Thanks. I havent painted it yet, and was thinking I would modify those corners before I do. I was leaning towards octogon style corners or taper it like a tear drop, but it has to be repeatable. Doesn't hurt to round em off now though, so good call 👍. I'm actually a safety consultant by trade, I just hadn't decided on those corners yet. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🤙

Do you keep your 7018 rods in a rod oven? I recently bought a used small 10 lb. oven on ebay and been having fun with 7018 rods on my home built implements. I am modifying them to work with the harbor freight three point quick hitch.

Short answer is no, I don't. I don't weld enough to be able to tell a difference or any benefit from it. I keep them dry and in a sealed tube, in a closed tool box on my welding trailer. They still get discolored with time and moisture but other than that, nothing special, and still works well for what I do. I studied (watched RU-vid) on the channel Weld.com. The guy on there Bob Moffat had a video of him testing that theory, and showed welding with a 7018 that was completely soaked in water, he welded with it no problem. Its way more important to get the settings right, surface prep, fit, and do a test weld first. Ever since I saw him weld with that rod soaking wet I don't worry about it anymore. I have heard that its beneficial to have a rod oven on 7018 low hydrogen rods, but I couldn't explain why. And hey, no judgement on a harbor freight 3 point hitch, stuff is too damn expensive these days, almost all my tools I bought used. Being able to modify/repair and survive is a dying skill. I don't know anyone who could afford buying new tractor implements. Just stay safe and keep all your fingers and toes.

Well done , I have a Yanmar 14 hp compact tractor that I need to do that upgrade too myself . I have a 743 bobcat that it would be nice to use some of the attachments I have with it on the yanmar . I add dual wheels on it that really made it much more stable .
