Tractor LED light replacement
In our previous LED upgrade video which was made 2 years ago we talked about the basic details and showed how well they work. At the time we were hoping to find a good UK source for these units and pass that information on. We have not been able to so in the video we will be aiming to provide all the information you require to buy these units.
The lights fitted to many tractors are called PAR36, which are 4-1/2" across the face
- PAR = Parabolic Aluminium Reflector
- 36 = 36 x 1/8" giving 4-1/2"
They are:
- Sealed beam halogen - normally 50 Watt and 300 hour life
- Screw or spade fittings
These lights (PAR36) are used for:
- Landscaping
- Tractor / farm machinery
- Aircraft landing lights
- Stage lighting
- Swimming pool or water features
- Boat deck lighting
Original tractor lights for a Bolens were either:
- GE4406 - Screw fixings, no longer made
- or GE4406-1 - Spade fixings
LED replacements
- A Google, ebay or Amazon search will find a number of supplier's using these search terms:
- PAR36 LED
- GE4406 LED
- We have found retail suppliers in US and we have found a couple in the UK (selling at a premium price). The alternative is to source direct from overseas in China (where they all appear to be made) and the cost is approx £10-12 each. The information provided is to enable you to source direct.
- LED replacements have both screw and spade fixings and have a 20,000 hour life
- Specification required to match originals
- 9 Watts
- Cool white (6000k)
- 51 x LED chip (not 18 x LED chip)
