Tractor Talk - The Mighty Power King!!! 

I have a 2417 model that i mainly use for hauling firewood. I bought a trailer for it that is the same width as the tractor. If the tractor can squeeze between two trees, so can the trailer. The trailer can hold one third of a cord, about 800 pounds of oak. The Power King pulls that with little effort. My only complaint is that the tractor has a very wide turning radius and is not very manuverable, so you have to carefully plan out your route.

Good one. Always liked the metal hood power kings. Farmall Cub is a bit longer and wider, weighs about 400 lbs more, same size tires as the power king, but only has 10 hp. Is it a garden tractor or farm tractor. Maybe discus that in a upcoming video. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋

Nice video! I have a 1982 2418 PK that I bought about 20 years ago. It has the odd 18hp single cylinder ohv Kohler that still runs good. What makes these tractors different from the others is the 10" bull gears and Dana Spicer differential. They also have independent rear brakes like larger farm tractors. Mine came with many garden implements, mowing deck and snow blade which I don't really need here in NC. 😂. One other interesting thing is that the first Terramite backhoe was built on an Economy tractor.

Power King tractors will last forever,with proper maintenance. I have one 1960 Jim Dandy 4 Power Kings. Best tractors ever.

There is a difference between Gaw-den tractors and Lawn tractors. The metal PKs are truly Garden Tractors. Clearance, gearing and power for use in a garden.

Loved your video! I have a 1956 Economy with 24" rears and a Wisconsin AEN engine. Around 7 hp I believe. It has one transmission. I believe the trans is a Borg-Warner T92 which was used in the Crosley automobiles. It's a cool tractor for sure! Gravely is my personal favorite tractor. I've always been fascinated by the robust gear drives and unique construction of them. I've had several of the 2 wheel walk behinds as well as a few riders. Love them both.
