Oliver and Cockshutt were related to each other only by being taken over by White Corporation. Before that, they were very independent and unrelated to each other. White introduced badge engineering to those tractor lines that included Minneapolis-Moline. Instead of developing new tractors for each color, the same basic tractor was sold under the three brand names, usually with only a different paint color and name badge.

This is '500' series 550 which were built in Canada, The later '550' series 550 was built in Charles City Iowa at the Oliver plant and had the Oliver style grill .

Nice tractor! We had a Cockshutt 540 for decades. It was a great tractor and I regret not keeping it.

It's not rare for me to see a girl/woman driving a tractor. My wife of nearly 35 years has no problem jumping on any of ours and our now adult daughters have done it since they were big enough to reach the controls. As a matter of fact, our oldest daughter does all of the metal and paint work on everything that I drag home!
