Ashamed to admit it, I was racist. I was raised around racism. I heard this song and it literally made me cry. It was like day and night. Made me realise, it doesn't matter what colour our skin is. It doesn't matter what religion we believe. You cut someone, their blood is red. There is only one race. The human race. I removed myself from all the mindless shit and concentrated on seeing the good things in life. I started praying and being thankful for every breath i took. Treat everyone like they're your family. You don't know what their situation or mental state is. Love, peace and unity. Regardless or race or religion.
@@Rasilonyou shouldn’t be condescending to people who do the work to change deep seeded ideas they were given as a reference point for life, you don’t have to throw them a parade or anything but just be happy that your goal of changing peoples minds is working.
By underrated you mean new to you!!! The multi Grammy and other award winning ; multi album selling; respected across the music world and by media as one of the greats.
Here in Europe we have so much respect for her music and her human beeing. I lived in Brazil few years and I can say that she's so much loved there too ✌️
My parents introduced me to good music, I'm lucky. My dad would drop me off at concerts at the house of blues starting at 12 years old. HOWEVER, I discovered this beautiful voice on my own and proceeded to interrogate my dad on why the hell didn't you put me on this!?!? Love her music
Beautiful singer, and musician and a lady with such depth of intelligence with humble, kind spirit. She always allows her music and lyrics to do the talking....important messages in each and every song. As valid and relevant today as when it was written. God bless you Tracy. Beautiful talented strong lady. You will never know just how inspiring you have been. Sharing your God given talent. Blessings to you always. This 🌏needs you!x
These songs she wrote, all of which I enjoyed back then; were ahead of their time. When no-one was talking about Race or religion. It was a real voice. Not these facetious words of today, that only serve to separate us from one another. All Lives matter! wake up the woke!
The most beautiful voice I have ever heard. Her songs remind me that there will only be peace through social and economic justice. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 🔆🔆🔆🌈🦜🌈🦜🌈🦜🎊🎉🎊🎉🌴🌴🌴
La voz más hermosa que he escuchado sus canciones me hacen reflexionar que la paz solo se.lograra a través de los logros sociales y económicos con la justicia por delante long live tracy chapman.
Thank you Tracy, soul searching, prolific poetry. Always reminds of the Toxteth riots where I was born. Always look back and reflect. Was it good? Or was it bad. History is our best teacher. I work with a young lass called Beth. She likes Tracy too. There is hope in sharing. Try it. Praise Jesus 🙏.👏👏👏👏👏👏
i love how powerful and beautiful her voice is live, just as wonderful as on the album recordings. her songs are remarkable and she never ceases to amaze me. it frightens me how relevant they still are.
I was 10 when I first heard this album. Stuck with me ever since. This is arguably my favourite! TRACEY CHAPMAN WE LOVE YOU GIRL *edit forgot or willing didn’t put the fact I’m 30 in the original
I remember this song from English class in school. They used the interesting history to help teach the language. I remember the emphasis the texts put on the n-word, and all the horror and hate behind the word.
