HI Jim! Thanks for all of the helpful advice that you've given me through your videos. I wanted to make sure that I understand the concept of becoming a registered trademark. Basically, you would recommend that a person starting a new business obtain an unregistered trademark first to protect the brand/business name. Then file the paperwork to become an LLC, which is needed for the application to become a registered trademark.
Thank you! Would love to know your thoughts on doing a trademark within your state first since that is quicker than the process with doing it in the US nationally? Or filing them concurrently if you can afford it so at least one is in place more quickly.
thanks for the info! i have a question. i want to apply for a trademark but i don’t have a business address and i don’t want to have my address in a public database. is it possible to use a virtual address for my trademark? i am thinking of doing this first before creating an LLC.
Would your answer change if you operate in a higher risk environment - ie Accounting/Financial services/Health services etc (liability is higher = LLC higher protection)
