Scared of heights when doing outdoor masonry painting? But a Trademate Harris Masonry Extension Pole.
In my view this Trademate Harris Masonry Extension Pole is an essential if you are tackling painting outside high gabel walls etc
The Trademate cuts out the need to climb up and down ladders to do the job. It extends your painting arm reach by an amazing 5 metres. This will normally reach the highest apex roof. Unfortunately you will have to use ladder and brush to do jobs like painting underneath the eaves and under window sills. But this clever piece of kit cuts down on so much time and effort. I found it an excellent addition to my painting gear. In fact it became the main element.
The Harris Trademate 5m Extension Pole can be bought from Homebase for as little as £16 95. Roller attachment is a few pounds more. A real bargain and worth every penny!

Kudos to you, being an amateur and willing to use a long extension roller pole! 25 years as a painter, I have used them many times, including my triple section 24 foot pole with a 3 inch nap roller sleeve. Loaded up with paint, it's a beast to handle, until you get used to technique of raising and lowering it. Here's a tip for next time you use one of these. Instead of paint tray, use a 5 gallon pail and a metal paint roller screen that hooks on rim inside pail. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to load up roller with paint.

This is a brilliant piece of gear andy and dead cheap at around £17 from Homebase.

I was using this extension pole with a 18 inch roller, it was a challenge due to the weight, I would stick to a 9 inch roller if you need the pole extended far.

Using the larger roller is indeed a huge challenge Jody. I think that you are quite right. The smaller 9 inch roller is much easier to load with paint and manage at this height. Thanks for dropping in with that. Best wishes
