Kimbap usually doesn’t require soy sauce since most of the ingredients are already seasoned. In the case of Japanese sushi, unseasoned ingredients are used, making it common to dip in soy sauce. Of course, with Korean kimbap, people might occasionally use the available sauce when eating it with other dishes. It’s generally a dish that doesn’t need soy sauce.
It's in high demand. Won't be in stock again until November. The vendor is working multiple shift to keep up with demand. Their entire stock allocation to the US was sold out.
I love this! It's so popular they have a limit of purchasing only 2 packages per customer. I keep mine frozen, then heat for 2 minutes in microwave, then put in a nonstick skillet that I lightly greased with avocado oil, heating on medium heat on each for another minute or so on each side. Then I dip in Trader Joe's gyoza sauce. Everyone I've served this to loves it! Yum, yum!
Love to see that you like it! The manufacturer said they imitated techniques of freezing tuna (fast freezing) to keep the taste even when you microwave it.
hello. This is the production team of SBS , a famous broadcasting program in Korea. It's nothing else, this week's Master of Life took a picture of the factory that makes "frozen gimbap" here. I would like to refer to the video you uploaded to RU-vid as a related video, so please ask if we can use the above video picture🙇♀ Please reply with a reply ^^ 🙏🏻 Thank you. -
nice thanks for the review! $4 is too much for me to waste on something icky but on an easy dinner when I'm too depressed to cook, that's not bad at all!
It makes a great lite early dinner I made a tiny slit at the top of the package and added a teaspoon of water before microwaving it. The steam really freshen up the rice.
It is a rule of thumb to eat Kimbap with ramen in Korea. But it must be Korean remen not Japanese. Korean Ramen has different flavor from Japanese one. Pairing these foods with kimchi is even better.
@@therealm1les You have a valid point. I know that Koreans say ramyeon, not ramen, but I think ramen is the international term, since it originated in Japan. How would Koreans feel if Japanese insisted on calling kimchi “kimuchi” and expected others to do the same?
@@user-bi1eg3ty6o the japanese already say kimuchi, also korean ramyeon is different than japanese ramen so it’s appropriate to use those terms when referring to the different cuisines. “men” isn’t really a common syllable in korean, just like how japanese requires a vowel after every consonant. the two are simply changing the pronunciation of a word to better fit their languages
@@therealm1les Thanks for your comments and I respect your opinion. Ramen and kimchi are two popular dishes that have been adapted and modified by various cultures around the world. However, despite the differences in taste, texture, and ingredients, there is no doubt that these dishes have their roots in Japan and Korea respectively. Even if Korean ramyeon doesn’t resemble Japanese ramen in flavor or aroma, it’s undeniable that the concept of instant noodles originated in Japan. Likewise, kimchi is a Korean dish, even if the Japanese version called kimuchi has a different taste from the original. How do we know this? Just look up ramyeon or kimuchi in any reputable English dictionary, such as Oxford, Collins, or Merriam-Webster. You won’t find them there. But you will evidently find ramen and kimchi, because these are the internationally accepted terms in the English-speaking world. This is why I labeled ramyeon as Korean ramen.
I have bought these! I really enjoyed them & was glad to know my Trader Joe’s had them available. I try to buy one every week; just really enjoy kimbap.
It's in super high demand. If you see it, get a lot of it because others are doing it too. The vendor is working 24 hours shifts to keep up with demand.
Wait heating up Gimbap? Never heard or seen of that. Thankfully for me though I have a place to buy fresh Gimbap not 6 minutes away. And the Vegatable ones are my favorite. For like 3.25-4.00 for much more Gimbap as well.
The better way is to get the recipe and cook them for yourself at home. Fresh kimbob is unmatched with frozen kimbob in taste Most Koreans are disgusted with frozen kimbob
@@VeganHacks I was so excited, thinking I’d found a sushi that would keep longer but I also simultaneously thought.. I’ve never seen frozen sushi before and I’ll bet that’s for a good reason! 😂 I’ll have to try the kimbap, it’s looks good!
Kinda upset at how these things blew up on tik tok, been trying to get some for a month now but they sell out they same day they restock from what the Trader Joe’s employee told me
I didn’t like it. It wasn’t nasty, but you can definitely taste the frozen-to-microwaviness, didn’t have much flavor without a sauce and kimchi on the side. I ate it, but wouldn’t buy it again.
