High-level athletes would be great traders if they wanted to be. They have things built inside of them that most of us don't. But that doesn't mean we can't develop those things ourselves. VP and Robb explain in Episode 14.

Great episode. I have been trading my own cash for about 1year. This episode hit home on journals. I'm a bit meh about it. its my own money I just bring up the history see the fails and they still sting. I didn't think I needed my comments on how much they stung. I will be taking the advice and go back through comment on the trades. The good and the bad. Thanks team. I don't need the book. I invest in my education. It's already on its way. Keep up the great work.

Forgetfulness... Finally a trading attribute I'm good at, I think. Great content as always guys, thank you. This subject speaks to me deeply on many levels. As a self professed athlete determination and endurance has been worth its weight in ummm... gold.... and has come through in many areas of life, including forex. I would like to throw in the trading psycology content you have put out has also made me a better athlete🙌🙌🙌 "Some people want it to happen, some people wish it to happen, others make it happen." One aspect of the difficulty in correct trading psychology is that you never know how obviously the price action youre reading, for example, s/r or patterns, structural breaks etc. are for everybody. If a structure turns out (for me) to give a possible position entries (or exits) one always questions oneself of this is such a "hot spot" or too oviously recognisable structure so that mms wil have a perfect playout possability for "us" retailers...

Unfortunately, I don't have a long sports background other than a few years of martial arts. But for a long time my hobbies in my youth included chess and the church choir (yes, I was that kid). And although these are of little help to physical health, I notice at least from myself that even such a long-term hobby is beneficial in terms of work ethic.

I have been listening to VP for a long long time now. I have been demo trading forex for a while now, even dabbled with a small real dollar amount. Life has been busy - started new adventures and now my goal for 2023 is to take the leap and actually become a profitable prop trader. I would love to read your book.

I personally need this book because I’ve lack areas in my life where I lack knowledge and discipline, I truly believe this book (specifically Peak how to master almost anything) will help me and guide my understanding of life and mastering my forex journey. I’ve been on this journey since 2019 and been following VP since 2021. I definitely believe this book will help me personally and professionally in all environments around me.

Wow I really like the JJ Watt example and I'd say I currently relate to Trader B. For the last 2 and a half months I've been forward testing a price action day trading strategy that I plan to trade along with my NNFX system. The main goal with my forward test was to practise identifying entries in real time which was the one thing I struggled with. Next up will be money management in real time. Sometimes it's easy to do in hindsight while testing but different in real time. Thanks VP and Robb, great episode.

I think purposeful training hit me pretty hard. For the longest time, I don't really have any specific goals or direction and just work on what interests me. Over the last few years, this was trading. Even within trading, I'm the guy that reads a little bit about each topic and has a wide knowledge, but nothing truly focused and measured. Also I will agree strongly with journaling. As much as the average new trader screws around and does bad trades, it did let me see a number of trades I did really sloppy, or find patterns I kept violating. I think you said in a previous episode that you can make mistakes, but you should NEVER repeat the mistakes in your journal.

Went live too early last year with no system in place and yeah… In the midst of putting my algorithm together now thanks to VP’s methodology and structure. Admittedly, it’s hard sledding and more frustrating than I thought it would be but never once had a single thought about quitting. Honestly, I thought trading psychology was more of a mindset tool once you got into live trading with real money but ironically it’s just as important if not more when you’re just starting out. Gold. Keep the content rollin’ gentlemen.👍

2 thoughts: #1 it isn't enough to journal. You also need to review your journal for it to be useful. (why is that always left out everywhere i see folk talk about recording things?). #2 in regards to goals, John Wooden (the most successful men's college basketball coach) described the goal of success like this: "Success is the peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable."

For me trading is more of a psychological game than a skills game. You only get better the more you ask the correct questions to remold your psychology on it. I am currently at the stage of psychological "remolding". Thanks VP and Rob for helping with this remolding.

This is the motivation I needed (especially the JJ Watt story) to really hammer down on the trading simulator and actually journaling. I have a system, I just need to execute, and to do that I need to practice way more than real time markets will allow. I've been in Maverick's combine stage for almost 2 years now and I finally have a good system. It's time to climb out of that stage.

I’m sorry but there’s no way in hell athletes would make good traders , most of them will approach trading with an overly competitive “me vs these charts” ass mindset, it will be a recipe for disaster, trying to control the outcome is something that athletes have to do in games, championships etc..that just doesn’t translate into trading … their psychology is pretty much wired to act …act ..act ….

Hey Patrick, I would like to suggest something, is it possible for you to conclude by re-stating the main points at the end once again... like the key points, or take away points...(I know it might cause people to lose some information, that is relevant or connected to, but it also get us (the listeners) to get to the point of every podcast) I have been a teacher, a professional trainer, and I have taught/trained people well over a decade... I am talking about this, from my personal experience... kindly consider or review the request... I will be honoured and its appreciated...
