Trading is actually very simple -- but don't tell the Academic this. They'll never believe you. They think the more you know and the deeper you go on any topic, the better off you are. Many of us have fallen into this trap in the past, especially if we have nerd tendencies, but most of us learned our lesson here. For those of you who haven't yet, this episode is for you.

five years of my life well spent diving deep into all of this VP. all of the content has my mind straight. my inner self in such a better place. i was a bit skeptical about this robb character when you started this trading psychology journey of which now i am hooked. robbs (apostrophe/ no apostrophe/ possessive/ non-possessive/ he/ him/ she/ they ** i sound woke as fcuk**) input is absolutely killer. continue the most excellent work you two. cheers mate.

Hi to both of you and thank you for this series. I’m listening to this since the beginning in the past month and learning a lot. It would be so great if you discuss some basic issues, as a lot of beginners are struggling with these. I will mention some here and they could be all different episodes: 1. Over trading! 2. Over sizing! 3. Revenge trading! 4. Overthinking! 5. Risk size! 6. Applying different strategies! 7. Fear of losing! 8. Euphoria! I know you talked about these topics here and there, but it would be very helpful to have more detailed and deeper discussion about them. Thank you

Much appreciated. As long as I don't have to use the exclamation points. 😆

I get analysis paralysis choosing eggs at the supermarket. There are just too many variables to consider 😂. But when something’s on sale, I forget it all. Often, a quick decision frees you from the internal OCD hell of insignificant overthinking.

@@dazaigh9419 Can't speak for VP, but if you watch his indicator videos, they test it out against different assets. I think it makes more sense to have settings for each asset type, but not overfitting it to every individual symbol (unless you do something extremely automated)

@@dazaigh9419 Find a setting that performs similarly for the same asset class. Different assets within the same class tend to trend/move in a similar way. For example: setting 10 works best for gold and still performs well for other metals such as copper and silver. However the same indicator at setting 20 performs great with BTC and still gives similar results for other cryptos. At setting 50 it works well with the Euro/USD as well as a few other forex pairs. Tech stocks like the settings at 30 while energy stocks like the settings at 80. Pick a setting that works well across the board with that asset class. I have three different settings for each asset class. One setting for all of my crypto trades, different settings for my forex trades and different settings for my gold but all 3 strategies have the same indicators in the algorithm. Because I trade 3 different asset classes but with the same indicators I have three of the same indicators on the screen with different settings and colors for each asset class that way I don't accidentally use the wrong algorithm. For instance my gold baseline is yellow and all I have to do is hide the other baseline and unhide the new one when I switch asset classes

My worst loses were trades where i ignored technicals and money management and traded 'right direction' which i believed should be for current news event of day. As i was so sure in those trades, i added to much on averaging down when those trades went against me only to end with really big loses. For me, economic news, articles and macro knowledge made me more harm than good. But i believe news and macro can be traded sometimes but only as trigger for setup after which MA indicator or whatever someone uses takes charge from then. For me, this is really hard to do even as i know it, as market always finds a way to 'convince' me to go all in in one direction. Now days less and less, but still enough to inflict pain.
