In this video I explain the characteristics of the three main trading styles; scalping, day trading and swing trading.
Hi, i'm Luke from Disciplined Trader and in this video I discuss the different trading styles in detail as well as comparing them against each other.
The aim of this video is to give you a good understanding of these styles hopefully help you when choosing which of these trading styles would suit you best.

scalping is indeed low risk but if it is low or hight reward depends of u .... aka the leverage ... i think scalping is the way to go .... u can make low risk free money every day , the key is TO NOT BE EMOTIONAL AND KNOW WHEN TO STOP ...

Luke hope you are well. I am little confused about trading sessions. People often refer to London, Asian, Euro sessions what is that referring to? As most of the forex platforms i use shows the currency pairs active all throughout the day and week?

Hey Mr Mawao, trading sessions don't restrict Forex markets. They refer to the active trading hours of different parts of the world. They have more significance when looking at stocks etc

What kind of broker would one choose for a day trading/scalping trading style? Is there any that someone could recommend?

Hi Juan, I typically recommend people go with a well known, well reviewed broker. If you plan on scalping, just make sure the broker allows it as some of them don't want you scalping 👍

Thanks for the video. Can you make a video on the ATR please? I know it shows the average number of pips moved by the candles over a number of days, but my problem is understanding how to read the number in the top left corner of the indicator. E.g. does 0.00212 mean the average number is 212 pips or 21 pips? Thanks in advance.

Hey, you would read it the same way you read the market price. So in the example you gave, it would be 21.2 pips 👍

@@DisciplinedTraderUK to be honest, I was mostly just guessing when I was first day trading and I ended up being right because I was focused on one stock at a time and noticed it's pattern and just got in and got out pretty quick.

what role does technology play is selecting the style..Let's say someone is in dubai and has access to the same type tools as someone in new york. Is the distance a factor?

Hi Bryan, spend some time learning the basics and learning to trade on a demo account. RU-vid is a great resource and demo accounts are free to open. Trading212 is a good place to start. I have a video on the channel that how's you everything you need to know when using trading212. Hope that helps 👍

Disciplined Trader that would be a great service I'd probably use, too. In fact, one of my biggest problems is that I have almost no one to talk to about trading except for youtube comment sections and some on Reddit.com . And in my experience ( as a teacher :p ), talking to someone about what you are trying to learn is a huge positive factor and also a good motivation.
