Yaaeetah abini! What a breath taking view! Very interesting - I live in the city and my dream one day is to go home to Dinetah - breath the fresh air and grow organic food again. I grew up on a farm, doing ranch work, herding sheep, going out early the morning - saying our prayers. Beautiful, thoughtful & a reminder of who were are as Dine people as they all said! It's a message from the Holy People!
What made you leave the motherland? I agree, it makes me rethink my career path and embrace the old ways and remove the hustle and bustle of modern life. It feels healthier for the soul. 🤙🏾
More to learn at home now days that in school ...this is education at home better than indoctrination in bela gana school...thank you for what you do in behalf of the youth and the elder ...learning the language from the elders ....is day by day prayers ...the holy people ....yes !
I am from the Menominee Nation, my grandma took me trading when I was little. (We embroider fancy dance shawls) we were invited into a family's dinner. It was very nice. I played with the kids.
Sounds like a great childhood. Have you visited the Navajo Nation often? We are looking to expand to other tribes starting at the end of the year and we hope to make it up north one day. Have a great day and we appreciate your support! Ahe' hee
@@Spagoshi the family was in New Mexico. A Pueblo tribe most likely. Did you attend Gathering of the Nations this year? I know many many families look forward to going every year. I have a Navajo auntie!
@@jessJBIRD1981 No we didn't. We had family in town, I was under the weather and didn't attend. We plan on it next year but we'll see how it goes. Did you attend? Have a great rest of your weekend!
Traditional Ways are Always Best ! 🙏🏽 For when stuff like Covid happens it affects you less…. Linda’s sheep weaving looks so crafted ❤ Very Informative, great! Video!
Agreed, when you live off the land and isolated, the modern problems are less effective. Hanging out with masini for a bit was comfortable and made me feel very relaxed listening to her talk. Ahe' hee for watching their video 🤙🏾
Wow I think I’ll like this episode, the family is lucky to have each others. Agh I wish the year of Covid was not stressful for me but it was and depressing. But had to keep myself going for my 2 kids while my spouse was away working.
No my spouse was military at the time. I’ve mentioned this to you before and you wanted to interview us but I said no. It was mainly hard for me as the spouse at home with kids because we cut out people visiting and was very traumatizing. Thankfully I had a niece who worried about me that time and stayed isolated for 2 weeks to make sure they were good. It was to the point my whole fam well like my parent and everyone who lived with them stayed isolate just to make sure my niece could stay with me. It is like a PTSD money for me.
@@RSVD84 Oh I remember your story now, I apologize for that. I've been in contact with many relatives over the year. Yes, isolation was pretty hard on a lot of families. My parents did something similar, before visiting us during the summer of 2020. I hope all is well and ahe' hee for sharing your personal story. Take care
hi Raeanna from okc ,we urban natives adapt and aclimate well to city life meaning change is always occuring in our daily and annual life here in the citys. Believe it or not there are those of us here in oklahoma city that keep traditional values alive regardless of change , our culture and native ways remain intact in our every day way of life and most importantly our hearts our minds body and spirit .Aho
I so love this channel. My dear long-time friend is Navajo. Knows almost nothing of his own culture. I brought him to my land. I want so for him to melt his Heart back to His Peoples, to fall in love with the land. We want to know more and both teach n learn.
This episode was very educational. I really enjoyed and was educated. I hail from pima, country. How little I knew at that time. Now old and enjoy learning. J. W.
I love to hear how your family and others came together during Covid and offered educational and cultural and fun activities to the kids. The rest of the country could’ve learned a lot from you. I think so many American kids were just left on their own, to try zoom schooling on their own, since their parents had to be doing zoom work or going to work. It really affect kids and really set them back not only at school, but probably in many other ways.
Yaaeetah oh shi heart lol so I guess we're aren't related then lol hahaha 😂🤣 jkn but yeah it's nice to see a beautiful lady like her do whatever makes her feel happier
