Many thanks for giving some of my flies a swim on such a tough day! In case anyone’s interested the patterns of mine you used in order were : a stuck-in-the-shuck emerger/stillborn 👎; Cdc french partridge 👍; bubble wing emerger 👍; hackle french partridge 👍; and finally a Paul procter hair wing dun 👍! There’s always a “will it catch?” tension when you are at the fly tying vice so thanks once again for trying out something new rather resorting to your tried and tested favourites!
Thanks Gaius. It seems the bigger and more buoyant a fly, the less committed the rises are. I didn’t use my elk hair patterns this year as they were a disaster last year.
