As I know, currently Liziqi is going to school to take some courses. I can't tell the details. It's very possible related to filming or editing I guess. We know she quit school at 14 years old and went to the city to find job to support her family(herself and grandma) after her grandpa passed away. Her father died when she's 6, and her step mother abused her badly. Her grand parent took her away from step mother. The only happy time for her is when she lives with grand parent. We can imagine how hard to her to live and work in the city. What life gives her is pain and darkness. What she gives back to life is kindness and brightness. She is a hard working and hard learning girl. Let's wait and give her time to take a break and enjoy the time in school. Let's keep supporting her. She will do better job after upgrading her self. I wish she can make a liziqi recipe book. I think her food is phenomenal. Edit: thanks everyone for letting me know it's just ordinary chinese recipe. But the fact that she creates everything from "scratch" is totally not ordinary in so many levels. Its amazing to see where she got everything that she cook or create. Perhaps she can also write about gardening, backyard farming or even a DIY book for people living away in the city. Hopefully in the future! For the mean time her videos are treasures to see. 🥰

I have a whole new respect for this woman after watching her "behind the scenes" video on how she makes these videos workout any help, i.e. photographer, assistant, etc. All that she does is done by her and her alone in these videos. The attacks on her integrity almost made her stop making videos, and I'm glad she rose above it. I myself couldn't believe she did all this herself and commented on a few videos about how I believed she had help. But now I realized the long hard work and hours she puts in to getting these beautiful videos to us and I send her best wishes and good tidings for a happy, peaceful, and prosperous life!

Everytime i watch her it makes you remember that to get the food we have takes alot work, and shouldn't be taken advantage of. There a saying the old days never die they just rest to come back into time. Today I have a treat with breakfast- an eggnog hot chocolate with soy milk. As I watch your video, I take in a deep appreciation for the farmers who grew the soy beans in my drink. This is a gratitude and mindfulness that we learn in the Japanese Way of Tea that I have been studying too. We take time to appreciate all the people whose hard work and dedication was put into creating what we use and consume. It's something we are encouraged to do outside of the tea room as well in everyday life. Living in a highly consumerist capitalist society, we hardly think about these things. I think that the things we enjoy become so much more precious when we do consider all the hard-working people who make it possible. That's exactly how my mom made the soy sauce when I was a kid. She didn't have the time and mood to make those since we moved out of the village. I miss the smell especially when the soy started to rot. I cannot exactly describe the smell. It was salty, fresh, yet a little bit rotting. After half a year, it started to become liquid which was soy. It tasted better than any sauce I've tried when I grow up. I miss that. Maybe someday, I will ask my mom to teach me to do that.

My grandmother could do all that I guess, and my mom always tells me she wants to live in the village when she is old, I could not understand her, I thought that was against social development trends. One of my uncles built a house in the countryside I thought that was a bad investment. This really changed my perspective and inspired me to respect that, yes labour work is difficult but when you treasure it with a positive attitude it’s really healthy and meaningful.
