Excellent video, Sir! Well done, and a valuable piece of historical documentation. I see that the traditionally made vessels are a minority of the items being sold. Nice to see a long handle 'ilumbu karandi' which is perfect for talichal. For best results, talichal and karandi should be immersed directly into liquid after seeds pop. That results in the maximum flavour.
Eeeya shombu is a tin pot, used for cooking rasam. Elimchaipazham rasam cannot be made in it, as it will dissolve the metal. But other rasams will have a unique taste, which cannot be duplicated. Best to use on coal fire, and to make sure that the vessel is full, which keeps it from melting. Also, if it is used on a modern gas stove, the stove should be on simmer ('sim') and a metal ring used underneath, to raise it up from direct flame.
The Eeya Chombu is made with Vellaieyam which is Tin and mined in Malaysia, the world’s largest exporter of the metal (inside of brass vessels used for cooking are tinned). Kareeiyam is Lead and not used in cooking as it is poisonous. Please don’t confuse the two metals, as one is non reactive and the the other is poisonous. The mistake is that both have similar sounding names.

Very nicely done sir. thank you. one correction if I may. When we say velliyam we are not referring to lead which is kaar iyam. Lead is for obvious reasons poisonous. Velliyam in English is Tin (Chemical symbol: Sn for Stannum) which does not pose health problems.
