So my culinary journey began to this beautiful gem at Green Park Ext. called Nagaland Kitchen. It was authentic & tasty. I was served with their specialties & the hospitality was brilliant. I was amazing with the flavors which were packed in the chicken bamboo shoot. A must try!

Naga's should really spread their culture outside nagaland. It's so hard to get authentic naga food even in cities like mumbai and delhi. I would love to try them.

Majority of North and Western Indians are not accepting of Naga and NE cuisines. Anything remotely different to a typical chicken tandoori and palak paneer is considered strange. Also the fragrance of the herbs and items used in Naga cuisine is more similar to SEA cuisine than North, South or Wester. These are the reasons why there are not many Naga restaurants because there is no demand or few lovers of NE cuisine outside of the NE.

That "raja mircha" pickle is actually from assam...they have restaurants in Guwahati, famous for mutton and pork.

Loved this episode. It is almost impossible to find North Eastern food here in Mumbai. When I was in Delhi last time, I did try and find some Naga pork dishes at Dili haat, but they didn't have it that day. Next time I will make it a point to visit this restaurant. Again, loved this episode ..

Something that is haram or not recommended in your dietary/religious practices doesn't mean you have the right to tell others not to have it. Just like beef consumption is forbidden for Hindus but still many hindus have it out of personal choice. Respect that..it's a food. Have it if you like it or don't. Simple

Don't always mention Manipur as a source of producers to get more tourist attention. What is available in Manipur are also available in our Northeast. Instead other state are more productive these days.

Likewise manipuris are claiming that naga king chilly is abundantly found in Manipur by the name as umorok and it should not be known to the world as naga king chilly. @@realcap8825 i think nagas are very jealous of Manipur. Yes of course it is abundntly in Manipur, it is called as chakhao poireiton in Manipuri. And that king chilli is also called u morok . They both are found mythically in manipuri ancient scripts as manipuri foods.

I have been to Nagaland Kitchen 2 or 3 times only... The first time ever we went with group of friends when it was newly opened...the 2nd and 3 were like before I find a better alternative NE restaurant... Nagaland Kitchen is little bit overrated, the third time I went there, their food aren't as good as the first time anymore. I'd say go to Safdarjung, Humayunpur area where you get lots of NorthEast restaurants and Tibetan restaurants... Great place, tastier food with lesser price....I'll be going to Safdarjung once the virus thingy is completely over.... 😄

Then there's some more restaurants I haven't tried yet. Its amazing to see people outside NE are opening up to NE foods.. Thanks Shoaib!!! Looks like you're enjoying a lot trying our traditional genre of Naga food, but do try to come visit Nagaland and try the different foods here cooked with locally and organically grown herbs cooked in earthen pots above proper fire places instead of LPG gas. When u go to an Assamese thali presenting restaurant, go for "Lai Saag Pork", one of the best pork item.We prefer fat belly pieces of pork, not totally raw pork meat, the fat is the king.If I don't find Assamese or Bengali restaurant, I go for Naga restaurants only for pork and chutneys
