The Atlanta Hawks are opening up trade discussions for Trae Young... #traeyoung #nba #traeyoungtrade 00:00 The Trae Young situation 01:30 Lakers trade 03:46 Spurs trade 06:32 Pelicans trade 08:38 Nets trade 09:59 Magic trade
THIS IS YOUR REMINDER THAT THESE ARE JUST TRADE 'CONCEPTS', NOT A PREDICTION Trade value is weird and by far the most subjective thing we talk about in the NBA... which is what makes it fun!
Dude genuinely thinks the hawks would trade their best player since Dominique Wilkins for weak role players and a trash first. I was waiting for him to admit it was satire the entire time
Why would ATL trade young for 1 first round player and role players???? I swear these videos about the lakers getting every star are crazy. Everyone needs to except the fact that the lakers can get a star because they don’t have enough assets and not enough cap space
@@MrE_ exactly it’s like laker fans believe they can get superstars with 1 first and role players that nobody wants every time. The worst is people saying they can land Spida, that’s the one that makes me laugh even harder 😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Basically every other trade video this guy and AM Hoops or whatever make about NBA trades is about the Lakers getting some all star caliber player. Nothing new here.
lol lakers fans been delirious for forever. They think they can get anybody and in these packages don’t even include reaves and still think it could happen 😂
I mean the hawks need a primary playmaker with assuming their really young rim running anchor and Jalen at this point is better as a secondary playmaker than a primary. For all the people bringing up Trae and Wemby being a duo, Trae and Sarr can work really well.
the Hawks don’t own their first round pick and the to be 1 overall pick fits perfectly next to him please explain why Atl would trade him before Murray, CC, and others?
They will trade him away to get picks back. If they manage to assemble a decent team without Trae, it doesnt matter that much if the picks are their own.
Hawks aren’t trading Trae young to the Lakers for a bunch of scraps. SMH . Hawks need to keep Murray and draft Sarr to pair with Trae . Sar averages double digits just walking into the court with Trae Young. Keeping Trae maximizes the Sarr pick and picking Sarr to play center is the ideal build for a Trae Young counterpart .
Nobody believes Sarr or anyone in this draft is a superstar. They need to trade Murray and Trae. Then develop Sarr, Jalen Johnson, Okongwu, AJ Griffin, and Kobe Bufkin to their full potential. And use the rest of the draft picks to find another superstar when this group is ready to contend.
@@Shortballa11I’m weak we’d lose almost every game getting rid of Trae and Murray. In what world would AJ griffin and Kobe Bufkin become Trae or Dejonte. This isn’t a video game😭
@@smokeyeasleyTV Thats the point. It's a rebuild. Would you rather stay mediocre with unhappy stars? Time to get what you can for Dejounte and Trae and use that to get another superstar when the time is ready.
We're not trading him away. Everyone on the outside who don't watch our games is trying to convince themselves that we want to move Trae. DJM is the odd man out not Trae. Listen to actual hawks reporters like Brad Rowland ,locked on hawks, and you'll see what the real deal is
Casuals still think Trae Young is gettin traded 😂….DJ might get traded bc his contract is easier to move. Talking about Trae getting traded makes for a great ClickBait video but realistically it’s not happening. In fact, CC and Hunter is probably getting traded before those 2 do especially with the number 1 pick more than likely being Alex Sarr. Remember Hawks fans. Trae Young got you to the ECF without a real number 2. DJ look good on those game winners during the season but couldn’t get you pass the play in tournament. The biggest issue with this Hawks team has been Hunter, Jaylon health and not staying on the floor plus Clint has declined greatly.
@@I.am_Grootit's because hawks fans are tired of casual trying to convince themselves that Trae was ever available. It takes 5 seconds of research to see all the reports are speculation and hope pieces from outside sources with no credibility. Instead we get video from this guy telling us we need to punt our franchise so the Lakers can have more chances to win lmao
@@dameau6325 Hawks fans should be tired of losing and showing no signs of improving. They are going to blow this roster up on some level not sure why that sounds far fetched to you
@@I.am_Groot but it's due to FO cheapness not Trae being bad. Why trade our best player when he's never been next to an a real all star, not injury replacement player who plays the same position as hin
I feel like are extremely undervaluing Trae and what he can do for teams. He’s one of the best passers in the league, has improved as a defender, and can score at will. We’ve been waiting for the Hawks to add an elite big man, and they now have the opportunity to do that with Sarr. If he gets traded, especially for one of these packages, I’d be absolutely shocked. Atlanta isn’t moving Trae or Dejounte unless they get blown away from an offer.
maybe but yet we won a higher % of games this season while he was injured. im a huge trae fan. but after he hurt his wrist and we won more games you have to consider empty stats
They just talk man. You didn't know the whole league is just a farm system for the Lakers and we're supposed to be bad every year? He wants us to trade Trae young, to get picks, who may not be better than Trae young. At his best was all NBA, top 15 played in the league. We night need to put restrictions on podcast equipment
Spurs are absolutely, positively, 1026% NOT giving up 2025 ATL picks in a stronger draft with no restrictions. That would be a termination offense for Brian Wright. Also Trae would not work with the Spurs O or D.
Facts. And to be fair Trae doesn't help the Lakers really I think to the Clips for Harden, Powell, and picks would be a better deal for all involved I hear ATL has some very nice...nightlife for the Beard lol
@@SportingLogically The Lakers are not set to keep the 17th if I have my info correct even then they just don't have the assets to make a pkg that levels up to what Trae is going to bring in from other teams
Utter trash. Lakers just dumping their unwanted assets to another team. A trade should be beneficial to BOTH teams, not just a quick fix for a favored team.
@Guarde1520 Somehow every time a trade is involved in a Lakers trade or historically any LeBron teams trade it's always they get a Stat and dump their trash, not sure what these trade dudes be thinking.
@@cdeleon3494 Spurs make a lot more sense than Lakers as they can actually offer ATL a decent trade package but I don't see that being the move San Antonio makes
The Magic can is the only team that can trade for Trae Young. They have 5 first over the next 3 years, alot of money, and young talent to trade as well.
Just think about what they could get for Trae, DJM, Bogi, Capela... If they can get their picks back from the Spurs, they could be the next Thunder kind of situation
Trae to Pelicans, CJ to Lakers, trade picks for Jarrett Allen. Trae, Herb, Trey, Zion, Allen with Hawkins, Jose, Matt Ryan, Naji off the bench that's a top 3 team in the West idc
Seeing rockets get the 3rd pick(with nets pick) and seeing how jelen green preformed post Allstars break..getting that plus more picks for bridges and having the nets say no...has to be suckin for a nets fan.
The problem with these kind on trades is that we dont really know Trae the player, we only know Trae the hero. Can he provide close to the same level when he is not the number one offensive option on the team? Can he still be the same player with the inevitable lose of confidence that a situation like that can provide?
Honestly as a Hawks fan, Trae doesn’t want to be Trae the hero…he wants to win. He was the second option in AAU setting up Michael Porter Jr to be the main player. He didn’t sulk, he and Michael Porter Jr are still real close
As a spurs fan, personally I want Jalen johnson for a FRP. He's developed so well and his defense and length would be a nightmare next to Victor for teams
I'm not a huge Trae Young fan, I think undersized players eventually just get weeded out in the playoffs at best, but I think a Spurs trade would be interesting. Maybe the way to get away with him is to have the biggest interior player in the league. A Trae Wemby pick n roll would be dangerous.
Thanks for talking about the interesting situation in Atlanta, but I disagree with all of these trades. Obviously the destinations make sense (well only the first two IMO) but why on earth would the hawks take 4 players and 1 first for Trae...? The whole point of trading Trae is to get picks back... not role players. That wouldn't make sense, however, the Spurs situation would. Getting their own picks would be valuable to the team. Pelicans trade simply doesn't make sense, Ingram for Trae just wouldn't fly. And the last trade with the nets, 2 first round picks from Phoenix...? Like what... those are going to be late first rounders if they don't blow up the team. Very weird situation. As a Hawks fan, hoping they keep Trae, dump Hunter & Clint, and take Sarr. I would love Murray staying but I believe one would have to go. The Hawks have never given Trae star teammates, maybe drafting one would change things (depending if we're high on Sarr or not).
Hawks hang up the phone instantly with all of these trades. The asking price is gonna be crazy high for Trae. Even if you don’t rate Trae Young as a player, Trae is the first star the hawks have had in 30 years and the reason why their arena sells out every game. If he’s sold hawks make less money and their owners are known for being tight. There’s no way they trade Trae unless he requests or trade or a team massively overpays (like the PG-SGA trade)
Trae is 25/10, you can't get that back in trade. Other than Zion for Trae, there is no other trade out there that makes sense. Get some picks back for DJ and run it back adding Sarr.
Great video. I'll add a team to the mix - Trae Young to HOUSTON for Fred VanVleet, the #3 pick in 2024 and the 2027 Brooklyn 1st as well. Houston gets 2 full years to see if it works with Trae before he can opt out, and Atlanta gets a 2nd pick in the Top 3, and can control the 2024 draft board. VanVleet has a team option for 2025-26 so ATL could clear cap room in 2025 if they decide to go full-tank by then, or if he works and they make the playoffs they can keep him.
Y’all he mentioned that this isn’t what he thinks the trade is going to be. Trae’s value is volatile. He could go for a Gobert level package or a role guy or two and some draft capital. Make up your own trades, those trades were just to broach the subject of Trae’s trade value and market
I'd say the only question mark with trae's trade value is his defense? He's a fringe all nba caliber player that brought a bummy hawks team to the Eastern Conference Finals? He has elite play making and can space the floor. I guess another question mark is his ability to play off the ball if hes joining another super star but I mean.. His value is really high.
I like the Nets trade. Indifferent to the Lakers and Pels. Spurs is never going to happen and Trae to the Magic would be a bad move. But honestly I don't think he's gonna get traded. Makes more sense to deal Capela and DM and just build around Trae plus JJ, Okongwu and the 1st pick
The best teams in the league are literally teams that kept their youth and developed them. Why would we get rid of Trae for anything really. Not very many guaranteed 25/10 under 26 players out there
Been an nBA fan, before players playing game dictates winning, now it's about players' contracts etc...not more so of players development and team continuity. More ownnerS trying to control, gine are the days coaches developing the roster...
Ingram + Mccollum for Trae + Capella works better imho (picks could be involved to balance). Money works and needs too... hawks would draft Sarr with the 1st pick and could roll and 8-men rotation of Murray, CJ, Ingram, Johnson, Sarr; bogdanovic, Hunter, Okongwu (pretty solid). Pelicans would have Trae, Herb, Murphy, Zion, Capella, with daniels, hawkins and nance off the bench. This is probably the best defensive structure around trae yet. Two possible problems though: spacing in the frontcourt (although the pelicans never really cared about that... I still cant believe they didnt trade for Turner when he was available, such an obvious fit) and less zion ball handling (although I do think he can run some offense with trae off ball).
Jazz could be an interesting option. Get him without trading your own picks and Colin sexton a young piece (or drafts picks this year) and salary filler plus picks.
Spurs have built their entire identity on team ball and defense. Young is a ball dominant zero defense player. Yes, a young / wemby duo would be crazy entertaining…but he’s not the long term answer they’re looking for
i know it can be weird, but what about Atlanta trade the pick for a star ? I think Trae has to be traded at first, but imagine : Trae is traded for picks and players, and you trade the 1st overall pick and like Okongwu for KAT (Minnesota can't pay all their players, so they need to trade or let go somebody).
Lakers Trade makes no sense for Atlanta. Not even close to be enough Value. At least 2 more 1st are needed. Spurs is more realistic. But Keldon Johnson + 8th pick + all ATL picks makes more sense for both teams. So New Orleans with a Trae Young/McCollum Backcourt? Havent we seen a similar Backcout before? Does Young make Brooklyn a true Contender? I dont think that. So I dont see why Brooklyn should do that. Orlando makes the most sense so far. They need a true PG and the team is so good defensively, that they can hide Young.
Lakers would be the best place for Trae, he'd have a dominant leader in LeBron, something he's never had before. IMO, this could be a similar move to what we saw when Doc Rivers went to Philly and Embiid finally got in shape. Trae's too focused on scoring and showboating, he's a known issue in the locker room. His coach suspended him for a game and he went home to play video games and pout rather than support his team on game night. It's that reason alone that I think Pop and most other coaches will hesitate to bring him in - LA is really the only place that could make it work
What? So just put any two random players together and add in a "lottery protected" first round pick and you get back a 50 million dollar player while keeping your lottery picks. I mean, come on man.
Trae Young is the best player the Hawks have had in 20 years, why trade him away and rebuild just to get a player who will be around his level anyway? The Hawks made the post season most of the last few years, with the no. 1 pick there's much better potential to reconstruct this roster and become an actual contender with Trae Young
Most of these trades don’t really benefit the Hawks to the level that they’ve stated that they want to compete. They’re committed to Quin who I am sure would not be happy and probably leave if the Hawks chose to blow it up.
Id keep dejounte and trade trae for sure. Id probably try and trade capela too and start the other kid whose name i cant remember how to spell. Get some depth. Jalen at the 4, move hunter to bench and pick up a star 3. Draft a SG if theres any good ones in this draft or try to get one with one of those trades
I think acquiring the 1st pick and selecting alex sarr would make trey more valuable for them . Why would you give spurs one of the best fit for a young big when you have your own young big. And i think popovich values dejounte more cuz he’s not small and can guard better + he’s cheaper and has a better contract
I highly doubt LA gives up that group including Reeves. He’s become like a fan favorite and he can score off the bench. That being said it’s the Lakers. I hope they end up hurting themselves more lol
I'd like to see the Lakers do a sign and trade for Lebron, for their sake and for Lebron's. Build around Russel and AD with a better defense oriented coach. Anchor the defense around AD and the offense around D-Lo.
As a Spurs fan here in SA, I can tell you the Spurs are not interested in Trae Young at all. Nothing against Trae Young, but it takes a certain demeanor to be a Spurs Star player and he's just doesn't have it.
I love/hate the pelicans trade. I hate to see B.I. leave. But we desperately need a guard upgrade. The only way I see this working is CJ would absolutely have to go. I see Trae coming to the pelicans is the pelicans would have to throw in a pick or 2 for security if B.I. were to leave. Not terrible but I’m not how sure we get that much better with him. Ppg would definitely go up but I’m not sure about the pelicans making a deeper playoff run with Trae then this year.
Man you’ve got it SO backwards. The #1 pick means they are LESS likely to trade Trae. Mark my words. Trae is only 25!!! Sarr is the IDEAL big man to pair with Trae. Because this draft is weaker, you aren’t drafting someone with the intent to rebuild around him. This is the perfect scenario for the hawks to get back to competing quickly, by flipping Murray for whatever they can, and use Trae, Jalen, and Sarr as the beginning of the core.
