He’s one of those few rare people that I don’t know a thing about him other than the roles he played but I just love the dude. I can’t explain in words why but he seems so genuine and kind.
I still remember John Candy even to this day, even after his death way back in 1994. John Candy's passing was the saddest day of my life😭. There's no telling what more great achievements he could have accomplished if he hadn't died. No doubt John Candy is a loveable, jolly and friendly person you definitely want to be friends with.
Its a sad thing about life.. guys like Candy and Curly howard,Bellushi died on us early.. bringing joy to people and God takes them so heaven can laugh...its not cool.. we need to laugh too.
I like all John Candy movies…but to say the saddest day of your life was when essentially a stranger to you died. Now that’s pretty sad!!! Not a family member or friend passing away was more sad??? Someone that you actually knew! It’s crazy how people worship and cry over celebrities that they don’t know and the celebrities don’t give a f*** about you. But that’s your saddest day! SMDH!!! 🤦♂️
I remember being a kid and hearing on the car radio that John had died. It absolutely broke my heart. Never forget that moment. He is my favorite all time
I loved John Candy and still miss him. You could tell he was a good guy and he was so very likable. My favorite movie was “Trains, Planes and Automobiles” which I have seen many times. I also loved “The Great Outdoors.” Love you, John. RIP.
@@bellabear653 When he tries to sell the Curtain Rings as Ear Rings to those girls by telling that it makes them look 18 or 19 years old.....that's pretty funny too!
I was 8yrs old when he died and I remember it well. Already at 8yrs old I was a huge fan of his movies and also Camp Candy. I remember when he died I was really upset and I remember my mom showing me the article about his passing in the paper. As an adult, I am still a huge John Candy fan. One movie you need to watch if you are a fan and haven't seen it is The Clown Murders. I love his comedy roles but the roles where he doesn't do comedy are kinda rare so I jump at a chance to see them. It's a really good movie and he does a great job playing his character, Ollie.
My dad got to met him before he passed. My dad did some work at his then house and says he and his whole family were/are so down to earth the few in the entertainment industry.
John Candy is an absolute legend of an actor. Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Summer Rental, Delirious, Splash, Once Upon a Crime, The Great Outdoors, Brewster’s Millions, Stripes, Cool Runnings are the films imo were the films he really starred as an amazing actor. Though as others have commented he was gr8 in others. Brilliant actor and will never be forgotten who love the films he starred in.
I honestly do not think any other actor could have played Uncle Buck better. I absolutely love this film and laugh every time I see it, very sad story of Johns battles and he could have gone on to make so many other great comedies, RIP John, very much missed by your appreciative audience.
His death in 1994 was a shock because I just watched every episode there ever was on Camp Candy and didn't think he had a chance in heck to leave so soon, especially before his kids' high school graduation.
John Candy was one cool dude back in the day .And his movies were cool and hilarious to watch ,also he cool on the show called SCTV ,which was one sweet show back in the day.some of that show would hold up today a little ,given the fact it now really old .But sure was so cool to watch back in the day .
Such a fantastic, unique, comical, genuine, genius, gentle, giant of a man. Sadly taken away from us way too early in his life. Always missed from our tv screens and films. John Candy legend.
I met John Candy and spent the day on the set of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. He is the same person off screen as he is on screen. I was to fortunate for this opportunity. Including meeting Steve Martin and John Hughes. A real day to remember. At least I have memories and photos for keepsake. ❤ Thank you for the laughs.
Look when I die I would hope that an autopsy would be done to rule out any foul play like cyanide or anything else a cause should be necessary 🤷 nobody should dictate whether or not an autopsy should be done up until now I thought they did them automatically ⚰️if somebody poisoned somebody I loved I would want to know but hey that's just me.
PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES AND THE GREAT OUTDOORS ARE TWO OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES... JOHN CANDY WAS SENSATIONAL ESPECIALLY PAIRED WITH OTHER ACTORS LIKE STEVE MARTIN AND DAN AKROYD RIP. JOHN CANDY❤️😔
I truly do adore and very much miss john candy.. I remember being a 20 year old me, walking around Wal-Mart , as I approach check out, I see a people magazine with the face of candy.. I don't put it together for a second... I go back and I tear up right there ... I never had a reaction from a stars passing as his. I truly do appreciate all his work, and the way he made the world a much better place for a while..
John Candy is one of the best people to ever grace our screens. May his eternal happiness be greater than the happiness of who's lives he became a part of.
Aww I love John Candy and always wanted a friend like his character in Planes Trains and Automobiles. I'm a 46 y/o male and I actually paid money just so I could get his autograph that I keep in my garage over my workstation.
I see so many comments referring to movies roles, and no doubt these were brilliant. I strongly encourage those fans to watch and really get into SCTV. This was one of the funniest comedy shows ever, and is vastly underappreciated. Watching five minute clips on RU-vid do it no justice. Buy a boxset or go deep on full episode playlists and binge. The characters and skits (almost always arced) and overall theme of the show really shine through when watched in depth.
Wonderful actor and human being, such a shame it’s been so long since he died. Obviously made a huge impact worldwide because he’s still such a recognisable character.
John Candy man legend GOAT Rest In Peace you will never be forgotten great movies like Spaceballs and Uncle Buck my favorite he will always be a household name
A world where John candy was a pro football player and we never got uncle buck , trains planes and automobiles , the great outdoors, cool runnings , spaceballs , stripes , who's harry crumb is unbearable
The amount of commercials throughout this video were disgusting, especially considering the subject matter. Way to profit off someone’s misfortunes guys!
Even though the 'rawness' of Farley was unlike any other heavy comedian then and since, Candy had real acting chops.....the full range of human emotion. He didn't have to throw himself onto a table to break for a laugh. Candy was more like what Farley could have matured into someday. Candy could have been Farley's dad in a movie.....imagine that.
In the US, they ask: “where were you when Elvis died?” In Canada, we ask: “where were you when John Candy died?” It was such a sudden and tragic loss to the world. Your roles kept me and my family laughing and happy in good times and in some rough times also. Not only were you a great actor, but a great father, husband, and person in general. RIP John. We miss you. Hopefully you are making people laugh in heaven.
In the US here...the double hit of one of my favorite actors in Candy and my favorite musician Kurt Cobain passing away in consecutive months made spring 1994 very sad for me.
@@ilovemydressinggown9715 I’m in Australia, I was at a football match waiting for the game to start. They announced it over the speaker. Could have heard a pin drop.
Every time I see him wave goodbye, at the end of 'Uncle Buck'. It still brings me to tears. Every time. You were taken far too early Mr Candy...thank you for the laughs, and your authenticity. RIP, friend
I loved John Candy and still miss him. You could tell he was a good guy and he was so very likable. My favorite movie was “Trains, Planes and Automobiles” which I have seen many times. I also loved “The Great Outdoors.” Love you, John. RIP.
