I got to meet JYD a couple of weeks before he died at a wrestling show here in Ohio, at the end of the show I got his autograph and my friends and I got to talk to him and hacksaw Jim duggen for about a half hour or so, both were very nice and friendly answered all our questions, it's a memory I will never forget
i remember the junkyard dog on WWF plus hearing about him being on the green bay Packers and when my son grew up it was WWE .i introduce all the wrestlers i grew up with my son .i remember taking my son to a timber rattler baseball game and Sergeant slaughter was there signing autographs I told my son go get autographs from him he was one of the WWF one of the guys i use to watch growing up an made my sons day to this day he still has that autograph from Sergeant slaughter.
Back in the late ‘70s or early’80s when I was in 6th/7th grade, JYD, Ted DiBiase, and I think Skandor Akbar plus some other wrestlers put on a wrestling match over two days at our school gymnasium in our little town of 2,000 in south Louisiana. What a great time it was to see him and the others live after watching them on TV. The day they were to leave after the matches, a whole bunch of us ran over to him just as he was about to get into his car. I was next to him with about 20 other people, he reached out to shake our hands. I felt three other hands fit into his big paw, then one lady said, “Oh, I’m never washing my hand again!” JYD let out a big laugh. As my brother and I walked to the gate and stopped at the entrance to watch them drive out, Ted DiBiase pulls up in a Trans Am with one of our friends in the passenger seat. What a lucky friend we had.
I so remember him watching wrestling growing up with my little brother who has now passed away himself. Thank you for continuing to remember these wrestlers 🤼♀️ that were such a big part our childhoods. You’re the best Jordan. 🎄Happy Holidays. ~Love&Light♥️Carli
Junkyard Dog was a big part of my childhood watching Wrestling n the WWF . Soo sad about him and his daughter too. RIP both of them. Thank you Jordan for doing this, your awesome dude.
I watched JYD beginning in 1970 on Houston Wrestling with promoter Paul Bosch. The Dog was no doubt a great fan favorite and many times rocked the Sam Houston Colosseum in Houston. Sad to hear that his life ended so abruptly at such a young age. Have to say that this video was excellent, and the narrator was straight-up engaging and respectful of everyone he mentions in his video. I appreciate his down-to-earth approach of treating JYD and giving an honest, nonjudgmental assessment of this wrestler. I’ll be watching more of his videos.
Loved JYD back in the day. He came out to the music of Queen- Another one Bites the Dust! Sad ending for him and his daughter, both gone way to young 💜🙏🙏💜
Been watching the channel for years and just finding out that Jordan the Lion is a pro wrestling fan. Just like me. Wow. Loved the channel before but now even more. JYD 4 ever!!!!
He was HUGE in Mid South Wrestling. Black, white, Mexican, it didn't matter he was bigger than Hulk Hogan in Mid South. I was in East Texas in elementary school and he was everyone's favorite wrestler.
East Texas here born 1974 and totally agree in his prime he had the strenght and christma of The Hulkster, When Another One Bites The Dust kicked on the place ABSOLUTLY ERUPTED!
Thank you daze with Jordan and the lion for all you do. Without you most of the world would never see these wonderful people experience all the things that you’re experiencing I just want to say thank you cause there’s no way I could ever go and see Beverly D’Angelo Christie Brinkley go see were junkyard Was laid to rest thank you thank you thank you your Las Vegas fan for many years
JYD was one of my favorite pro wrestlers back in the 1980s. I seen him wrestle in World Class Championship Wrestling, Mid South Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Federation and World Championship Wrestling. He was a great wrestler and a great guy and I was shocked and stunned in 1998 when I got the sad news that he was killed in a car accident in Mississippi. I sure miss him so much. R.I.P. JYD.
JYD!! Grew up watching him! As always the respect you pay to these folks that have passed on is always 2nd to none. Thanks again for taking us on this journey.
A excellent job on this great wrestler. I see from your vlogs you cover many of these amazing athletes, & that they some seem to die at a early age. As it's really sad that this happens to many and in various ways. I sure appreciate your Lion Heart towards all Jordan, and so respectful to all in telling their story's of life. RIP Sylvester Ritter. Jordan Ty for your efforts and quality research you do! Every vlog is detailed and so well articulated! I know no one that seriously delivers such well researched vlogs as you & our little buddy Jah! 😉Luv&Peace to all channel members and viewers this holiday season Cheers!🍻✌🏼
My Saturdays as a boy was watching him and pat paterson, what a different time. He earned every amount of praise he ever got. Much love to this man and his daughter. We are all junkyard dogs in our hearts. 🤗❤
So sad, never realised it was a car accident which caused his death and never realised his daughter had passed away too,I remember her inducting her father into the HOF.Great little vlog, loved the wrestling footage used in the vlog of him👌,and the backstories ,RIP JYD and LATOYA.

I'm starting To Really Enjoy theses wrestling videos the more of them you do keep them coming
I don’t know how I stumbled upon your channel, I love this episode of Junkyard Dog and I remember watching him growing up. You covered this story so well. New subscriber!❤
Great tribute, Jordan. You are at your best when doing this type of video. Heck you're great in all your vids but you really tell a good bio story. I love JYD and thought this was great. I learned some new things today. Thanks and keep it up!
I try to remember that a good portion of people that watch me didn't follow wrestling at all before my vlogs, so if they do give it a chance, I want them to understand wrestling is an art and strategy business.. not just guys beating each other up for 20 min
Jordan, I love when you do all these athletes. Well I love ALL your content. You teach me and countless other's amazing history that we'd never know or see. You are a superb storyteller/teacher. I'll never tire of all your hard work. I want you to have a healthy happy holiday and blessed new year. I look forward to following you right into the stars and beyond. Prayers for Jah too, always thinking about our little pal.
I remember when I had the thrill of meeting jyd what a nice guy he was. he gave me his autograph and actually spent time talking to me even though I was at work. a really great memory. rip jyd.
I always watched him back in the day when I would watch wrestling with my brother. :) I didn’t know all of this about him, though. Thanks for sharing, Jordan.
Hi Jordan, what a shame, another sad ending for a wrestler. It never fails to surprise me how many of these wrestlers died so young. Great vlog Jordan.
Good job Jordan. I had never heard the story about the person pulling a gun on someone in the wrestling ring. Thank you for the great videos you do. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas !
Always loved JYD. Watching his old stuff in Mid South he was so good. In the WWF he slowed down and gained a ton of weight but was so popular. I still have his LJN figure that I bought as a kid. Grab them Cakes. I remember the Ric Flair match. I believe it was on a Clash of Champions. I will have to watch it again.
interesting story. he sounds familiar, I'm not much into wrestling. pretty sad how he passed. what a lovely daughter, well that's more sad she was young and a heartattack wow didn't see that coming. well may they both JYD and LaToya Rest In Peace. thanks Jordan for another great one. take care and be safe.
Jordan speaking of your dad, I think u should do a blog on your father! He lived a short life, so let us who watch everyday , know is story! Just a thought!
I always wondered where North Cack A Lackey was now I know. JYD was always fun to watch and if wasn't for the addiction problems he could of done so much more . RIP JYD .
Jordan thinks for featuring Junk Yard dog. I however need to mention Bobo Brazil. He was truly the first African American superstar wrestler. Bobo Brazil invented the Coco Butt!
The internet say that JYD was one of only 4 WWF wrestlers who never turned heel. The other three were Ricky Steamboat, Tito Santana and Ultimate Warrior.. I think that is a wrong statement. I don’t remember Hillbilly Jim or KoKo B Ware ever turning heel.
