Guys at fort william this weekend were strapping lead weights to their bikes to add more weight. I know its downhill, but does make you wonder why everyone is obsessed, with weight. For me its essentially irrelevant.
Patrick Baranowski Im happily riding a PP Shan and a Knolly- I really dislike the big brands. Small brands make niche products not aimed at the mass market, that’s why they can suit you 100x better if you the kind of rider the company builds the frame for. Speci/ Trek are for masses and geometry/ suspension layout shows this. Oh and the flex of steel frames makes for a really comfortable ride
‘There’s way more to a bike than just the spec sheet’. Damn right Guy! Too much emphasis nowadays is placed on parts rather than what they are bolted to. On a side note, Guy is definitely more watchable in this video, since he also sounds more enthusiastic compared to the first presenter. Tom showing disgust whilst talking about certain parts isn’t great, but at least Cotic is getting some love for being different.
Is that bike available to someone in the United States? Because I like it perfect for my trail ripping and enduro races also known one else will have such a cool steal bike
5:50 the linkage bolted to the spindle/axle, is smart, same for the rear axle, But I am not sure about the rest. I wonder about the flat surface bearing sits agents, is it on the inside or outside, I am concerned about bearings misalignment.
3:39 I would avoid this dropper, take a look at the MTBR forums or other forums, you will see people having issues with leaking, failed brake, scratched stanchion, I got these issues for on two droppers after just few months. I got a refund.
