Neat. Brings back memories. In my youth I was a capable horseman. I often did not even use a saddle, even at a full run, I never fell off. Now I'm old and I miss it. I've thought about taking my grandsons on a Montana elk hunt on horseback with a guide but, maybe I need to sit that one out. Thanks.
Hey Steve Lewis , nah. You could go with. Get some practice in, get saddlle sore and work through it. While you are doing this, you are working out too. Then gradually increase your fitness level. Nothing too harsh. Enjoy yourself. You dont need to go on every hunt. You gonna have a base camp,...yes. ? You could do your own thing. Spot of fishing. I bet you , you would be with your Grandsons. What an opportunity for some men time and Priceless memories for you and them. Stay cool dood
I don’t ride horses but was just curious. This was SUPER well done and well thought out. I like the concept of the three ride types. It’s an important part of the planning and if she had a channel I’d watch it. I learned so much!
Here's Sarah talking about how to keep you and your horse safe and healthy.... Then there's the "Dreadlocks Cowboy" who nearly ran his horse to death down a freeway for a political stunt, and yet the horse may still be euthanized due to his mistreatment (his statement is "..hell yeah I'd do it again"). My, how the sides differ.
Well done young lady , I’m sure many folk who go horse riding in the wilderness will find this video very helpful in helping them pack the right gear that could help them in a if things go wrong when far away from help.
@Sensibleprepper Been watching both your channels for 10years. Ever since i was in middle school. Love that we get to see your family utilizing the thought process you've been teaching me for years.
Huge trail riders. Nice video. Most people under prepare/drink way too much and endanger themselves. Recently we blew a tire that tore off our fender. We recently upgraded to 14 ply tires. Remember getting to the trail ride is just as important as the ride.
I love this. I haven’t ridden much, in years since my Arabian of 32 passed away about 8 years ago. It’s been hard trying to find her equal. 💖 hopefully I can get back into it in the next year or so. My eldest daughter, she is 6 and obsessed with horses 🐎
Hmm, didnt see anything that goes bang. I dont care if its just a ride down the road, anywhere theres people or the potential to be a person, i always have a firearm and extra mags.
I been hearing RU-vid is talking about taking down all preppers ch because they say it causing chaos .. Did you hear about ? I think they better do better with their home work because the way the economy is going and natural disasters it helping people .. That my thought
My daily schedule used to be .... ride every morning around sunup (checking cattle, fences, etc), work in fields throughout the middle of the day, then ride and check cattle (again) before sunset. 1000 acres and about 600 head of cattle. At one time, we had 23 horses and also broke horses for neighbors who couldn’t. The ones they brought to us were usually VERY wild and headstrong. Fun Times....
I really love the thought that went into preparing these bags for different scenarios! Do you have a link for the koala bag?? Please also talk about (and show) the importance of having your saddle bags evenly loaded so they are not pulling over to one side of the horse and how to properly fit a breast collar so it can do its job.
Good video! A couple little tips....a horse should only carry 20% of his/her body wt. which includes horse, tack and supplies. So, packing around those huge sizes of liquids is something a person may want to reconsider. I tried the leg pouch, but ride English and it was uncomfortable when posting, though I liked the concept.
**Bet you Pampers never marketed that thought. **But horses being skittish to loud noises and other stimulus would not be my first choice. **A veterinarian I know said horse's thought process is "what can I do to injure or kill myself today?"
I loved this video I have started westren riding two mounths ago and and English six mounths but stuck with westren Iv only been on one trail ride and loved it my horse is a mustange and a sweet horse
Excellent ideas but there is one thing missing that I would want to take on that adventuress ride. I bet you can guess what it is...that's right a firearm of some kind.
