Love Mt. Rogers! Being from southwest Virginia I have been on multiple 50 mile hiking trips through Boy Scouts and many weekend trips near there. Glad you could enjoy it too. Had a very similar response to reaching the top as you did.
You’ll enjoy Mount Marcy in New York, it overlooks the other 45 Adirondack high peaks that are all over 4,000 feet in elevation. If you’re ever in upstate during the warm season, I’d make it a priority!
Story of my life...gotta double check that battery life when going out for runs. 😂😂I now keep an extra fully charged go pro battery with me whenever I film a run. Another fun one and I remember that Hurricane Irma one. That was brutal. 😩
I was SURE I'd have enough battery for this one. I was wrong!! Thank goodness I had enough power left to snap that pic of the geological marker. Camera died RIGHT AFTER I took that pic!!
Hey Nick I'm a freshman in Michigan, and my 3200m PR is 10:08. I have regionals on Friday, and the automatic qualifying time for the D1 state meet is 9:36. What do you think I should do? Go with the pack, run my usual pace, or try to go out in 4:48 in the first mile? Top 2 placers also qualify but I'm ranked 16th currently
Hi Nick, big fan of yours! Im an Irish 800m athlete with a PB of 1.53 which I ran last year at 17 years old (I haven’t ran an 800 this year). I’ve got a race this weekend in the 800 and I’m hoping to lower my PB to 1.51/52, have you any tips on splits? P.S This year I’ve dropped my 600 time by 3 seconds since last year so I’m hoping I’m in the shape to go faster in the 800
thats a GREAT PB. I think you are well on your way to a big PB this season. However, it is unusually to set a new best in a season opener. Just focus on running smooth and busting some rust in this first 800m. But you may surprise yourself!
Love your channel. Check out youtube : Geology of Mt Rogers by VT Geosciences- oldest volcanic rocks in NA, 750 million years old. thanks for your great videos.
