if you did a new fuel pump it is 100% a REQUIREMENT to replace the filter

You can pull the fuel pump fuse or unhook the battery if you want to so there is no voltage to make it safe. But just keeping the key off will do the same.

Nice tip, Nathan! I had no problem getting my fuel filter out of the bracket this afternoon. It just fell right out. Literally! The plastic strap was broken! So after replacing the filter I secured it using the handyman's secret weapon! No, not duct tape: zip ties! 👍

I have a 2005 trailblazer. Cannot find the fuel filter anywhere. Any ideas?

What if the hose keeps popping off? New clips new filter and all? It will start... But after a few of running the hose pops off

Great Job with this killer tip. As a DIY mechanic with 40 years experience with using a Dremel rotary tool to grind the heads/shafts off rusted fasteners and clips myself, I *never* would have thought of simply bending the edge of the hold-in clip. You saved me a lot time and agony and proved that one can learn something new every day. But it is true that a lot of newer DIYers really don't know how to "pop off" the quick-release line couplers without damaging them, so a quick demo for them would be helpful. But they could also just look up a video on how to do that so... when I do something I've never done before I always check out the procedure first before applying the tool. Always, guys. Save yourselves the pain and expense at "just taking a shot at it". Once I had the filter out I did go to work with the Dremel on that stupid rusted screw. I finally got it out and replaced it with a stainless steel bolt with a hex head on it. I'll probably never have to replace the fuel filter on this 04 Trailblazer again but since I was under there anyway I did it as a favor for the next poor sod who works on it. Plus it just offends me terribly that someone decided to use a crappy little screw in the first place. On an replacement part that is fully *exposed* on the under carriage? Really? GM actually paid someone to make that "executive" decision?

Hey I was dropping tank on my 08 and a vaper burp line broke, is that a big deal, or will it run fine without that? In your opinion, it's the burp line that goes from tank to where the fill tube is? Any help would be greatly appreciated

You really didn’t show everything from the beginning what you should do when you change the fuel filter like unhook your battery and drain and make sure no fuel running

Auto zone just told me my trailblazer don't have a fuel filter on the side on a 2005 going under to see been replaced fuel pump what they told me to get it started burning gas

You a fraud man!! Why can you show how to unhook the lines. That is what everyone has major problems with, then where to locate the fuel filter and how to unmounted.

Was expecting actual tip. Nothing. Most other videos give start to finish info and show how to disconnect hoses and clips. Not here.

Good ol' GM. They would place the filter under the car. Whats wrong with a better accessible location; like the engine bay! I have a Honda cr-v. Its in the engine bay. Very easy to change.
