I just ran across your videos on the trailblazer. Your videos are about as close to the working conditions as I've got. Rusty parts, stuck bolts and in the grass. Thanks for a down to earth how-to video that truly helps me save money, and actually learn something new.
I'll be doing this with Dad tomorrow so I just wanted to see what was involved. He has been a mechanic for 58 years now and I've been the flashlight kid for over 40. Thanks for sharing this info!
MAD props for this video! My drivers side 2yrs ago was a big cluster, took hours of screwing with it, couldn't get it even close on the alignment, tires squealed on the way to get it aligned. I really dug how you used a tape to measure from the INNER tie rod, not the jamb nut. Others measured from the jamb nut, well guess, what? My new Moog jamb nut was wider. I did screw up on the last 2 turns, the inner started turning with the outter. Pulled out the tape, backed one thread off, and perfect!. My alignment was perfect! Thank you so much for this, only took me 30min.!

Hi! I have a 2005 Trailblazer 4.2. How loose should it be to consider replacing them? Mine nocks little bit when in the air I move it from side to side. Thanks
My trailblazer steering wheel is very loose an when I turn my steering wheel my wheels does not turn, it start doing that when I hit a bump on the road dnt have zero control of my wheels ?
Nathan, I followed what you did but my problem was the tie rod came off completely! Meaning it was broken off before I could get the jam nut off! Right now i have it clamped with a c clamp and is waiting for pb blaster and wd 40 to do its job! Any other suggestions?
@@FixingWithPassion update: My neighbors tried heating the nut but that didn't work either! I was getting frustrated! So I sprayed both sprays again and waited four hours. Came back to it with my wife and spent the next two hours in the cold trying to get the damn thing off. Finally it moved and my wife noticed it! So I was able to get it off and replaced!!! Thank you for your video! I wouldn't have been able to get it done without it!!!!
What if the threads are tapped in or out further or the actual rod is longer or shorter some like maybe 1/4 inch or so then you would not know if the turns would be correct. I would advise to measure from a point to point from the drum if the rod you are removing is not worn and loose to give play to the drum. I would at the least measure from the disc to some point for reference holding the tie rod stud straight up and down or center it so you could center the new one back the same.
Trying to figure out how to get my jam nut loosened up when the bottom of the tie rod popped off while trying to back up all kinds of problems here can someone please help with info
