Director’s biography
Isamu Hirabayashi, born in 1972, Japan.
After graduating from Musashino Art University, he became a graphic designer at an advertising production company. Leaving this job, he became a freelance film director and made numerous advertisements. While working on them, he set out to produce experimental films.

監督プロフィール
1972年生まれ。武蔵野美術大学卒業。
グラフィックデザイナーを経て、映像ディレクターに。主にコマーシャルムービーを演出するかたわら、独自に短編映画制作を始める。制作した短編映画が国際的に評価され、カンヌ映画祭監督週間、ベネチア国際映画祭、ベルリン国際映画祭、ロカルノ国際映画祭、サンダンス映画祭などで上映される。アニメーション作品『663114』が、ベルリン国際映画祭でSpecial Mention受賞。『BABIN』がロカルノ国際映画祭でSpecial Mention受賞。2012年より、幼児教育番組『しまじろうのわお!』の総合演出を務める。『しまじろうのわお！』は、国際エミー賞、バンフワールドメディアフェスティバルにノミネート。
