Id argue the opposite actually. One of my favorite dynamics throughout the show is the idea that Ricky is actually a lot smarter than Julian, he's just bumbling and not very well spoken so it appears the opposite. On the same note, Julian is level headed and well spoken, but in reality he's not nearly as smart as he comes off. If you look throughout the show (this clip is a perfect example of this), its often Ricky who comes up with the brilliant schemes and ends up saving the day, where Julian's seemingly well thought-out plans often fall apart and are the reason they get into trouble in the first place.
@@surviver5738 its a reference to RPG games (mainly fallout and elder scrolls) where your character has attributes like speech,strength, shooting,etc... having a high speech level can help a character get out of tricky situations as is the case with ricky, mans has a speech skill of 100(+)
He saying some of Tom Sizemore's exact lines from Point Break. They sprinkled in movie references or camera angles or characters quite often through the years. They're not easy to find sometimes.

Yup. When I heard it I had to think about it because I had heard it somewhere else. Eventually it dawned on me. I think Ricky did it better to be honest.
God I spent a summer blazed out of my mind watching this show for the first time. I swear I passed out for a whole season at one point. I'll always hold Trailer Park Boys in a special place in my heart, what a fucking masterpiece

The lines Ricky says to the cop when he first approaches are the exact lines Tom Sizemore says in Point Break. The Boys have alot of hidden movie references sprinkled about throughout the years.
I live in Toronto and the Trailer Park Boys are my favorite tv show. I watched this when it aired in 2001 on show case and loved it . I'm really happy that this show is Canadian.
The more I've watched this show over the years the more I feel like the only reason Julian is willing to keep Ricky around (especially in the early seasons) is his ability to bamboozle police. Julian is notably inept when it comes to outsmarting cops. Ricky is a major, all-around liability with this one exception. Julian is just using him.

Considering trailer park boys is a show in Cannon, Ricky should be as well known if not 50x as known as this “Satan’s bastard” gang. Even if it wasn’t a show he and Juilian should be At least the most well known criminals in the area. This makes it even more impressive that ricky was able to do this
Looks like Sunnyvale PD got more than one George Green types, and Julian somehow always have trouble swaying the cops, something that's second nature to Ricky
