Don't lane split with a trailer, not safe at all. I wouldn't lane split with a Goldwing anyway. Lane splitting is illegal in our state (Va.) and elsewhere. I saw one fatality this past weekend with someone who tried it. Our lanes aren't as wide as yours. On the Darkside issue, I was very skeptical at first. I researched it and got feedback from many people pro and con. After two years or so I tried it. There was a slight learning curve, but over all it was well worth the change. And you CAN ride on curvy mountain roads just as well as highway riding. Great with a trailer! My insurance company had no problem with it. Not trying to change your mind, and I don't recommend it to everyone, but it has worked out for me the last couple of years. I'll probably stick with it.

Yeah, for sure. I split lanes when I don’t have the trailer hooked up, but I only do it in places where the lanes are big enough. The Goldwing is a big bike, LOL. The carpool lanes normally are good for me to do that easily. It’s not legal to split lanes with the trailer connected.
