I'm a single woman, just now buying an RV, and it is so encouraging to see videos like this. I just watched 3 in a row, all female, so it makes me feel much better about my decision. It's scary at times, but the hard part is getting out. I have a lot of clutter from my family to get rid of by the end of my lease, but I can just imagine how much easier it will be to breathe once I lighten my load, now!

I'm looking into it too....am 68 and daunted by it all but nonetheless ... Almost done working, going to clear out my cluttered place and onwards... I've never felt 'home' anywhere in my life so .... ♥️🇨🇦

My husband and I have been living in our 5th wheel trailer for about 3 years now. We got tired of shady landlords and high cost of living. We purchased our trailer for 1,000. We got super lucky! It's about 12 years old and in great shape. More and more people are starting to do this. Makes sense to us. :)

It is the media that has brainwashed us into thinking we need bigger things, more things, younger things, shiny things,etc. Pretty much we should have learned by now that if the media tells us it's good and the celebrities tell us it is good, then we know it is not! The goal should not be how much more we need to earn and how much more we need to have, the goal should be how little we need to survive! Stay simple and enjoy life!

Ernesto T. great comment. id rather travel and see new scenery and meet new friends on the road doing the van or suv living i recently bought a suv to do this with..and you can add a travel trailer later to a van or suv if you want more living space

Ernesto T. great. what country are you in? spain? my sister just got back from spain. i bought a european car to do the suv dwelling in a used mercedes suv so the car is from europe. how are van or rv living laws there verses in usa? stuff doesn't make you fulfilled i just happen to have a hobby which is cars. what makes you fulfilled is experiences and meet genuine friends along the way and van or suv dwelling allows this to happen

Amazing. She saved herself a pile of money by purchasing an older camper, and an older tow truck. She is able to make a living, and make MONEY by being a book keeper accountant for companies. She uses all the systems onboard as they were meant to be used, draining the tanks every 14 days. She has reliable internet, and also Direct TV for entertainment. She did what she wanted to do.

Hello , how great. I've seen many of Bob's interviews. I found my camper for free on Craigslist, very nice inside. I just gave it to my grand daughter as I've now got motorhome class C. I lived in camper one winter in northern Minnesota. Took out booth n put in little wood stove. greatest time of my life. will be back on road soon. Blessings to all.

As a child, most wouldn't like being "uprooted" if they do better with stability. I enjoyed the challenges & experiences of new places & things. Left home at 14 & saw the world is about learning, adapting, & sharing. Most folks are cultivated in bubbles that only expand a tiny bit over their lifetime (cruises don't count, J/K). Glad you've had a nonUS lifestyle experience. It really adjusts ones life perspective & humbles. Saw in Iraq & other places how comfortable & care free a mud hut in 125 degree weather w/ a garden & a few goats really was.

Bob, love your channel man, you're a great fellow. You have convinced me to get out there and do it. I have my ex wife who lives with me, because she is a stroke survivor. Our son is grown and out on his own. We are going to start in oregon because its so beautiful, and the weather close to the coast seems to b e perfect. We are both on disability, together we make about 2000.00 a month. Not much, but enough to get out there and enjoy our lives while we can. Gonna start by living in a tent for about 5 or 6 months while finding an rv, about like kathys, we don't need much, and it doesn't take much. My only concern is drs, and getti,g her meds, as lo,g as she takes her meds she does great. And I truly believe getti,g out in the open fresh air and meeting great people like you will do her good. Keep up the videos, because I will be watching and learning from you. Have great one Bob.

Thanks for sharing your life, Kathy. We'll be leaving next week, finally, for Florida. This year will be different with a little cat. She's a good girl, but very much an "inside" animal. We'll see how we get along. Brian and I are very blessed to have two beautiful adult children, one with 3 kids and a wonderful fiance and one single and quiet to sit our house and keep it safe, God willing. So I hope you have good travels and who knows, someday it may be "hi" in real life. Safe travels to you. God bless.

I have a 1975 23ft Wilderness that I am bringing back to life.I paid 1000$ for it but have had to put at least another 3000$ into it to replace the entire floor, all the walls and the ceiling because of the moisture damage and the mold. I am now finally at the fun stage which is the decorating. It still needs new ceiling vents, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, window treatments so I'm anticipating another 1000$ investment. I purchased this as temporary housing for our son who was having issues. I didn't realize it had the water damage that it did. That didn't work out but because of the financial issues that my husband and I are having right now the Wilderness may be our home soon.We would have to sell both our cars in order to purchase a truck to pull the trailer. I'm scared to death. I watch these videos for encouragement...

better to save money and pay for a professional to install solar. Also - if you look there are groups that connect and handle tasks for each other. Who knows what can be bartered for a little power from the sun!

Before going to work for the NIH (Fed), I lived in the Dominican Republic for 3 years appreciate Kathy's Mexico experience. After 8 years, I graduated my last of 3 sons this past year & husband of 30 yrs up & left 2 years prior...so I'm seriously looking for something that I can implement as a strategy. It will be hard to shed so much stuff (I've started) but I'm encouraged by the positive reception. Back over 30 years ago I lived out of my car for a year to save money for college...I loved it...surfed, showered, went to work and surfed...then pulled out my sleeping bag and slept on the beach. There are some wonderful people to meet if you don't fear everyone nor believe every story!

Kathy...loved this whole video. ALL of it! lol Not exactly a comment about RV living...........just wanted to share how MUCH I , too, have learned.....living in Mexico. .....realizing ( as you have) that Simple Living can easily end up feeling to be quite luxurious ! All 'learned' from being around Mexicans.....who have never forgotten these Simple Truths. Wish everybody could experience.....whether to live happily in an RV...or happily in a small house such as mine! Gracias for sharing!!! You're a lovely lady May the blessings of the Universe continue to fall gently upon you.

Nicholas Miller --if the Mexicans are so happy, why are millions illegally crossing our boarders?????????????
@nicholasmiller5146
@nicholasmiller5146 7 лет назад
Oh...it's not that ALL Mexicans are happy....but certainly a lot of them really are. They're far less "stressed out" by many Americans seem to be....at least when I visit the States 2x a year. Truly. The ones who migrate North..looking for "better lives" tend very much to be from the very poorest parts of Mexico. Many are doing really well, however...certainly compared to their Past possibilities. Things have change quite fast in Mexico over the past...oh...20 years or so. Plan a visit...you'll be quite surprised by all you see...Truly

+David Gibbard my former employers whom have now moved to Mexico, spoke of the wonderful Mexican friends they have made over the years. They buy fresh fruit, fish, veg, eggs etc from the locals who farm with no pesticides(thankfully they can't afford them) and have the best food and lifestyle. They re well grounded with the earth because they swim , hike etc outdoors touching the earth everyday for hours resulting in great positivity. They drove through southern states many times seeing white men doing nothing while Mexicans were eager and happy to work. Some Mexicans know they are better off with a quiet lifestyle supporting themselves by supplying tourists and new settlements. Anyhow that was how these former employers saw it.

I stopped paying my mortgage last month so my house will be going into foreclosure. I'm saving up for a travel trailer; I have a Ford F-150 5.4 l, so I'm looking for about 19 or 20 foot lightweight trailer. I hope to be on the road in eight months. I have income coming in each month; not a lot but I think it's enough to live on. I'm scared and excited.
@CheapRVliving
@CheapRVliving 7 лет назад
That sounds like a great plan! If you can afford them, I recommend the Casita or Scamp fiberglass trailer or T@b and R-pod trailers. They are made better and will hold their value better.

Think about a car hauler with an extra high roof and concession door to convert to a window. You can replace the plywood with actual board tongue and groove to make it voc light, too.
@danceswithbears2521
@danceswithbears2521 7 лет назад
learn how to use your signal light I think there's about 20 or 25 years left. It's a big mortgage. Probably more than the house is worth, being as the foundation broke.
@danceswithbears2521
@danceswithbears2521 7 лет назад
learn how to use your signal light I can't afford to fix the foundation. I can't maintain the house any longer. It isn't fair to my neighbors to have this house in such poor condition. The house across the street was in terrible shape. It went through foreclosure. Now it is beautiful because new people bought it. I don't want this house. I can't afford this house. I am leaving.

I’m loving her bright caftans! I’m in my mid 50’s and own several now. They are so much nicer than a baggy tshirt and leggings, and I like the silky fabric and how it instantly improves my mood. I enjoy many outdoor activities and find myself in pants too much, so I revel in femininity in a gown.

I'm w/ you Tami, now if i can convince my wife to go this route, I'm in lol. She keeps holding on to the premise that she has to have all her STUFF around her and I don't agree with it....but maybe over time she will at least give it a try ....you know, just to humor me. :) wishing you the best and hope your journey will work out for you.

I would like to get something with an engine, so I dont need a car. I own a scooter, but they are not allowed on highways and if I used it to go into town, Id more than likley be off some highway. I could very well live in a Van, I did own a van 4 years ago, but go rid of it, now I wish I had it, I would start today! So I guess I will just start saving and hope I get lucky finding something that is cheap yet wont break down. Hopefully you and I will be on the road very soon! Its gonna be the cheapest way for me to live being on disabilty! And get me out of this crazy mess! Im was born to move around!

I so envy her set up! She has everything one would need in a sticks and bricks home. Wow! People knock solar power, citing when its cloudy and rainy for days on end, the batteries go low and you got nuthin. I guess with this mode of living one could easily say "Oh hell no!" jump in their rig and move at the drop of a hat to where it is sunny. LoL. Of course I would think a small backup generator could fill in the gap as well.
