I have come to a realization: after close to a decade, Tales of Symphonia has been dethroned as my favorite game. And I don't think that any game is ever going to have a moment that will top the infiltration of the Black Workshop. Then again, I haven't finished this game yet I literally saved to a separate file after the fights with Georg, Rossweise, and the Ouroboros people so that I could re run through this whole beautiful mess

Oh I know the feeling, I'm just in Act II but the Black Workshop raid was so effing epic that it will be hard to top it off. Then again, we're talking about Trails, the saga that blew my expectations with every single entry. I'm definitely gonna replay this kickass sequence in the near future, haven't had much fun with a boss gauntlet section since the end of Trails in the Sky TC

and the only moment that can compete with this is the infiltration of juno naval fortress with Principal Aurelia

@@shun2240 I wouldn't say the only one that can compete. Luke's duel with Asch on Eldrant in Tales of the Abyss would also be up there, as would Ludger's duel with Julius near the end of Tales of Xillia 2. The Black Workshop is just perfect example of build up and pay off across multiple hundred hour games. Then again, that's kind of the entirety of Cold Steel IV

I can think of three god-tier spectacular fights from the three arcs up until CS4: Cassius Bright the Divine Blade in TC, Arios McClaine the Divine Blade of Wind in Ao no Kiseki, and Rean Schwarzer the Ultimate Sacrifice in CS4, how fitting for all of them to be practitioners of the Eight Leaves One Blade. Hands down the most epic clash in all of Trails, everything from the 3 boss gauntlet fights leading up to this extraordinary moment. Really reminded me of everything I love about this series, kickass battle songs and personal fights with everything to lose and your back against the wall, resisting the onslaught and rising up against the odds, hitting back twice as hard, and defeating those unsurmountable barriers.

Having now beaten this game, I can safely say that this was the best part of it. The whole game is amazing, 10/10 but, Fragments: Shattered Blade is the biggest highlight of the game

Yeah I also think so, fighting against berserk Rean was probably the best fight of the game. The music is extremely hype, the fight is pretty challenging (Rean hits like a damn truck) and it is the moment the game up to this point built up to. The rest of the game was also really good but nothing have topped this moment imo. I also feel like being able to use Rean made the game a bit too easy, his defensive order is extremely strong, especially at max level.

I really love this music so much that I made a separate save just so I can jam out to it. Also I prefer Rean x Alisa as they are basically the main couple. They also know each other as kids, she kisses him in TOCS2 but I also love the interaction between them.
