@@tabacyanis6124It sounds like it kinda. But the Sierra Railway 3 is the whistle of The Polar Express while the Pere Marquette 1225 was used as inspiration for the train in the movie.
I agree @Cecil Smythe. The steam locomotive represent a part of our railway history. My hope is that the Heritage Railroads continue operating for years to come. 🚂
UP literally rebuilt their big boys and challengers so im pretty sure they will be around for the next 100 years. Where was this located at? Thats one of the more beautiful steam locomotives I’ve seen out there.

Ah yes the now reluctantly 2nd largest regularly operating steam locomotive in Pennsylvania now with 2102 operating. Both happy and sad of that. She'll unfortunately will be going in for her 1472 overhaul soon.

@@mahinakhter8157 you’re comparing a bullet passenger train to a freight train, what is your point? If it’s that a bullet train will win a race then obviously but that’s not what steam trains are built for, the Big Boys were built for power and could pull 120-cars/3,800 ton freight cars at 40 mph in the mountains of Utah and Wyoming. Goober doesn’t know what they’re saying💀

I used to think that the pollution by coal was an exaggeration but then I looked at this and wondered how many years we just assumed 'this is tine' don't get me wrong I love trains and coal power is a big part of history but it just got me thinking yk
