A fine collection of Heritage units Jason! Sadly, I believe the next time the real Heritage units go into the paint shops they're going to come out in basic NS black, there's no railfans like Wick Mooreman running NS anymore and current mangement could care less. Those model Heritage units will be all we have to remember them by.
@@rushylvania.northern Well, if worse comes to worse and those units go back to basic NS black there's a fine book to remember them by. It's called "NS Heritage Fleet" by Benjamin L. Bernhart (I've met him, nice guy!) and was published in 2013 by Outer Station Project, 1335 Railroad Rd. Dauberville PA. Original price was $25. Eighty pages of all-color photos of the Heritage units. I don't know about it's availability now but it's one to keep an eye out for. I've got a copy and I'm glad I do.
@wayneantoniazzi2706 saw your comment about that heritage unit book. How many heritage paint schemes were there? We've just unboxed our first union pacific heritage diesel ace, its now one of our top 3 favorite diesels. Video is in editing, to be published shortly. Tell us your favorite top 3 heritage after seeing all those color photographs. Gary
@@TheTrainboard Hi Gary! There were 20 Norfolk-Southern Hertiage units and they were (I'll also list the model of locomotive): GE ES44AC Monongahela Railway Conrail Southern Railway Nickle Plate Road Central of Georgia Railway Pennsylvania Railroad Norfolk & Western Railway Lehigh Valley Railroad Interstate Railroad (Original) Norfolk Southern EMD SD70ACe Savanna & Atlanta Railway New York Central Railroad Reading Company Erie Railroad Virginian Railway Wabash Railroad Central Railroad of New Jersey (Yeah baby!) Illinois Terminal Railroad Penn Central Railroad Delaware, Lackawanna & Western RR There's a LOT more than I remembered! I hope the list was helpful to you! My favorite Top Three? The PRR, CNJ, Erie. And what amazed me about ALL of them is how well those classic diesel paint schemes worked so well on modern locomotives. Those graphic designers in the 1940s really knew their business!
Always appreciate the work that shows in your videos. great benchwork, room lighting, a real problem for me( cant run electrical lines by myself to the main box), an exceptional track layout well planned, and good camera work. Im starting my own o gauge channel June 1, 2022 inspired by your work ethic and fun watch... much apreciated... wish your friends could come to NJ and help with my lighting problem in my celler for the trainboard... alas gary
Once you have one NS Heritage Unit you cannot stop. I know because I enabled many people to get all twenty! My reissued Wabash which I got about two years ago came in the black NS box.
You’re gradually building your Norfolk Southern heritage unit fleet. I have seen various railroad & model railroad videos of various Norfolk Southern heritage units. My most favorite Norfolk Southern heritage units are the Erie, Lackawanna & Lehigh Valley railroads. 7 members of my family worked for the Lehigh Valley railroad from 1868 to 1976 & two of my second cousins who worked on the Lehigh Valley railroad out of Coxton Yard near Pittston, PA went on to work for Conrail. My late paternal grandfathers longtime childhood friend worked for the Lackawanna railroad.
my dad, born in 1920"s, grew up in pittston, pa leaving for ww2 in 1941. He said,in 2010, he and his friends knew every inch of the coxton yard. in 2005, we explored the area a bit, picking up old coal still on the ground but I didnt know specifically about the coxton yard at that point. My dad saw real steam engines running thru pittston, pa for years and years. Ive only seen the 614 and J steam engines running in real life, although the J, sadly, was running 10 miles per hour at Strausberg, pa. Im starting my own train channel june 1, 2022 called the trainboard, hoping to post many steam engines and diesels in my collection.
@@file1man my ,atefather was also born in Pittston, attended Andrew Jackson elementary school on Curran street & Market St. for Kindergarten & then St. John’s from the first grade all the way to graduating Class of 1947. He attended the Scranton campus of Penn State University till 1950, then he moved up to Buffalo where he met my late mother and married her in 1952. I. Lived in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, went into the Navy in 1972, went to Boot Camp at Great Lakes where I was able to get in some railfanning of the Chicago & Northwestern and Elgin, Joliet & Eastern railroad trains. Also lived in Virginia, California, Hawaii, the Philippines & Arizona. I will be looking for your channel next month.
Great acquisitions Jason! Took a quick video of the Monongahela prototype at Colhour Yard in Hammond, Indiana about two months ago. My favorite of the NS Heritage units.
Ha ha! Nice addition to your livery and the RS engine looks great, too. Hope I see your completed layout with all the fixings before my expiration date. LoL Cheers, Bob
Very happy for the two new locomotives the 8025 it was probably your best looking one out of all of those my opinion of course. The 2227 switcher is right at home enjoy
Man oh man your switches on the lawout are really smoothness shows time and quality workmanship you put to your setup. Please show more of the massive set of switches in the .front or your layout you got quite a thing going on for Norfolk Southern my favorite to!
Looks Great. There never really is an end to a train collection. I just picked up my MTH Mike Wolf Bigboy and had to pre-order 2 Auxiliary Water Tenders
Hi, when I read where you had just picked up your MTH BB, my hopes peaked as I had ordered an MTH PREMIER 4014 on 1/13/21. TODAY I received a call from the dealer that it was in and I should receive it by next Tuesday at the latest. I have the ribbon waiting to be broken about 2 minutes after I add it to my controller. Yippee 04/28/23
I like the gray NS Heritage Monagahela units. I’m surprised you didn’t consider getting the NS Illinois Terminal heritage unit, probably my favorite NS heritage unit because it’s bright green and green is one of my favorite colors.
Great looking Heritage unit. You really are putting together a nice collection of Heritage units. No, you're not done yet. I'd would be willing to bet there will be others joining the collection, lol. Being a diesel man now, I really like that SW1500 switcher. Bill B.
If you’re taking requests I love seeing the smaller engines on the bigger layouts. Railking switchers and other smaller shorter trains help the mainline feel way longer
Definitely agree that sometimes small engines in long runs are special. A compilation of our small engines is a great idea for a video...will steal your idea and publish in next 2 weeks. Much appreciated. Gary
Saw the nickel plate one in new Jersey and thought of you.. you have an awesome collection.good luck finding 53 ' container. Like I posted you last night on off Mr muffins and public track delivery.
Hello Jason that was a very nice live stream you did I enjoyed it very much and I know that I cant say this enough about you O scale modelers you are all indeed amazing people thank you Jason for being an inspiration to the up and coming class of model railroaders even for old guys like me who have been modeling since I knew how to crawl the hobby is not dying we will continue to lead the way Jason GOD BLESS HUGS FOR SHELBY that's SHELBY with a Y
Awesome!! The one hertiage unit that I’ve been looking for. I live about 10 minutes from the city of monongahela. One day I’ll find one to own. But good pick ups keep up the good work.
Nah! Keep going! It’s Norfolk Southern and it’s also the liveries of the heritage railroads. Two for one. I really liked the heritage series both MTH and Lionel did. Love your channel.
I've said the same thing about BNSF ES44AC locomotives but I keep finding new ones to buy. I personally don't think it an addiction, more of a passion. Besides I can stop at any time.
A red Block "O" would be cool too! Never say never. I would like to get that one also. Unfortunately, Lionel missed the color pretty bad on their version. Go figure.
@@JDStucks I am working on trying to get them all in railking since I don’t have the space like you do. It will be challenge to get them all! Still looking for an sd40 that fits on 36 curve and NS rules!
Hi, Question...Is there any way outside of having every receipt for my K-line cars to check value? I have my Greenberg book for Lionel and I can get MSRP info on MTH. But can find nothing on K-line but hit and miss on eBay. Thanks....Stay Safe and Well
My girlfriend and I are looking to get married and by a house in Michigan. I want a basement the size of yours or bigger. What is the square footage of your basement?
Have you did a video yet of how you wired your signals with the atlas switch? I have the atlas switches and I have the signals you recommended, just need to know how to wire them. Any help would greatly be appreciated. I can send you my email address if it helps.
