I miss the old days. I wanna go color a hello kitty coloring sheet and then go to recess and eat a peanut butter sandwich for lunch. I miss not having exams and anxiety and fake friends. I miss melting crayons on the heater and reciting my ABCs and showing my stuffed unicorn to the class. Years pass like minutes, days like seconds, so make every moment count. [ edit: i realized this is kinda stupid cause im still pretty young but you guys enjoy it so im keeping it up (: ]

It's been a decade now, but we still crave for music like this.

I faintly remembered this song from when I was younger, I had no idea what the lyrics meant, but all I heard was “soul sister” and it made me want a sister so bad because I was so lonely. Fast forward a couple years I got a little sister, and I’ve loved her ever since. When she heard this song she felt the same way I did when I first heard it! Even though she was so excited for a little sister I secretly wanted to have a little brother. Life is full of complications though, I’ve faced many hardships, and two years ago my sister and I cried over the death of two unborn siblings- both our little brothers. On one faithful June though, last year, our premature baby sister was born. She almost could have died, and my sister would play this song when she went to sleep crying. Now our baby sister is six months old and I’ve come back to listen to this song! It’s so happy yet heartbreaking because it reminds me of so much that I’ve been through- A soul sister can be anyone that you love. For me it’s my family, and I (18) feel so lucky to have two little sisters! (The oldest turning 11 on the 23rd of this month and the baby 1 in June!)

I remember when this song came out in 2009. I couldn't have been older than six years old. My siblings and I would listen to this song on the radio. We'd belt out the lyrics, not knowing what the lyrics actually meant and not really caring. I miss that so much. I miss the carelessness and the fun and the freedom and actually being a kid. There's no more time for happiness in my life now- all I have time for is essays and projects and algebra packets and work, work, work. There's no time to play outside or actually socialize any more. Even writing out this comment is wasting precious time. But whenever I listen to these songs, even if it's only for a couple minutes, I get to be a kid again. I get to be a six year old, with no responsibilities or problems. I get to be happy again. That's all.

Back in 2009, December something like that, my dad showed me this song. It’s the first song that I know of that I’ve ever kept inside of my head for so long. I’ve had this song in my head for the last 10 years. And to think, I was only 4 when I heard this. And my Dad passed away 4 years ago. And I searched up this song again, but when it started playing, I broke down crying. Even songs that you listen to at 4 years old can give you good memories, if you have sharp memory that is. And I love you Dad. I hope you are listening to this song up there. ❤️

Jesus, I remember '09 like it was yesterday. I was in 4th grade and was coming home from the last day of school, I was sitting with a bunch of my friends on the bus when this song started playing. We ended up getting the entire bus to start singing. I was no more than nine years old. Now I'm in my freshman year. Time flies man.
