i know 2 kids from my youth that have 1 leg because of hopping trains and said the pain was extreme and than came the shock of looking at his leg laying there on the other side of the rail with his new sneaker on his foot

wow, that sounds like it would be a horrible experience. once you loose a limb, you cant get it back. i almost lost my lower leg/foot one time, i didn't even think about it until afterwards.

Got you some nice photo footage . I do miss hoboing did it in late 80's . Closest I could get to it were about 25 years of truckin for several unpleasant sorts . Can't seem to shake the traveling addiction so will become an expat soon . Gonna gypsy travel some of the world. Safe travels brother and keep heading East .

You where not seen. it was most likely a car stuck on a level crossing. It could have also been a mechanical failure of the break pressurization system in the locomotive.

I doubt you were seen. If you're unfamiliar with trains you'll mistake a sudden stop of a slow train as being something out of the ordinary.
@slserenader
@slserenader Год назад
true, that is a possibility. but the train stopped in the middle of the branchline and i saw someone in a bright green vest exit the locomotive, which was very unusual. i just ran to be safe.

The Delmarva Central Railroad (reporting mark DCR) is an American short-line owned by Carload Express that operates 188 miles (303 km) of track on the Delmarva Peninsula in the states of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. The railroad operates lines from Porter, Delaware to Hallwood, Virginia and from Harrington, Delaware to Frankford, Delaware along with several smaller branches. The DCR interchanges with the Norfolk Southern Railway and the Maryland and Delaware Railroad. The railroad was created in 2016 to take over the Norfolk Southern Railway lines on the Delmarva Peninsula. The DCR expanded by taking over part of the Bay Coast Railroad in 2018 and the Delaware Coast Line Railroad in 2019.
