Happy to Watch this! I'm from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India 🇮🇳 My house is located very near to Chennai ICF. I saw this train few months ago, kept on ICF's tracks as ready to delivery. Now I'm seeing that this train set is rocking in Srilanka. Love you Sri Lanka 🇱🇰♥️🇮🇳 நன்றி✨Sthuthi
These trains are the worst of Sri Lankan railways , just two three months , parts is falling , ac is not working properly, too much noises , seats are broken
@@Ape-geethaYT ICF has expertise to make EMUs like they have made Train 18 which is popular in India and also recently they construct Metro coach for Kolkata and MEMU, DEMU and EMUs which also popular in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi manufactures here
Thank you, I really enjoyed the "journey". Bit disappointed that I did get to see Paranthan station. In the early 80s I used to travel to Paranthan from Colombo occasionally for work
Thank you for a very informative video. The speed will improve over the years with proposed upgrades. I'm more disappointed for not having double lines from Omanthai to KKS when they newly built it, but knowing that the country need to develop a whole area after the 30 years of conflict this is understandable. I will make sure to take this train ride next time in Sri Lanka.
Thank you for your comment 😊 After 1st of March this year , railway line between Vawniya and Maho will be closed for 6 months for full renovations . After that it will be more fast train journey
I think it makes perfect sense to replace single lines on anywhere in the lowlands with double lines to facilitate more trains and potential speed as well. One of the reason for hitting elephants is the need to travel fast I think. I would imagine double tracks would allow more trains & less need for speed. I guess it is no easily feasible task to do that on central highland train tracks, but it should be achievable in future years on lowland train tracks if the economy can recover.
@@ceylontrains That would mean no trains to locations beyond Maho for that period via that track? Will they have a bus service to replace the train ride between Maho and Vavuniya, so the train between Vavuniya and Kankasanthurai can be used by the people coming from south?
They should double track the entire northern line given its importance to country’s security and economy. This line keeps the country together. Ideally, they should connect mannar and trinco lines to Jaffna along the coast to keep the country intact and make Jaffna a rail hub in north
Feels very nice to see these nice ICF trains in Sri Lanka. Whatever teething problems have been reported with ICF coaches regarding quality etc, I hope they will be resolved, and the people of SL will have a premium train riding experience going forward. Are any S13/S14 new rakes used on the Trincomalee/Batticaloa line?
Actually I like these type of videos....make you feel like you are the one traveling unlike those other videos where the one that records keep talking sh*t 😂
WOW... 😃 That was such a beautiful train ride... 😍😍😍😍😍 train cabin with good noise-canceling, excellent shock-absorbing... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Greetings from Indonesia... 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Seating capacity is 520 and there are only few people per carriage ..it will consume 5 to 6litre per km ..Distance to be travelled is 420 then assuming 5.5 lpkm It would need 2310 litre for this entire journey so it CGR need rs924000 just to compensate diesel cost ..so nice
Nope, power sets require way less fuel than that, that is an approximation of a single engine like m11 or m10. DEMU's consume half of that approximately.
The train has now gained a lot of customers on Sundays and Mondays(Colombo to Jaffna)! Its better to book and have the ride! Its actually so amazing, I always like trains! But some people who haven't experienced say that train ride is too hard. Nope actually its so light and no stress at all. Specially this Kankasanturai train! Its a very good idea for trip as a travelling option! Now actually prices are bit high. I think about Rs.2500.
Hi what is this train name? Denuwara manike? and where it goes? one more qestion, Are All "Udarata manike" , " podi menike" , denuwara manike" has same S14 Cars? or different? please explain
It's Kankasanturai A/C Intercity Express (No specific name) Runs between Moratuwa to Kankasanturai Yes all those three express trains have exactly same s14 cars . Just the name and the stops are different .
since its a fully air conditioned train why the doors are open.? shouldnt be keep shut during the journey for the confort of the passenegrs and to save energy?
passenger compartments have 02 automatic doors front and back they always close unless some one passes then sut again but out side doors are open so compartment never loose any cold air
@@ceylontrains They are close all time They have too inside sliding doors (power) THESE doors are close Outside doors are open so never loose any cold air or when rain no draft come inside
Not necessarily.. private entities will make certain that these trains run at optimum capacity by adding more comfort, safety and other benefits to attract passengers who would usually opt to travel by road..
