Florida East Coast Railway & Brightline Trains From Vero Beach, Florida. Watch These Fast Trains At A Busy Railroad Crossing Next To The Vero Beach Train Station. The Locomotives Have A Special Tender Between Them That Carries Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). Brightline Trains Are Also Featured In This Video. These Trains Were Filmed In Vero Beach, Florida.
Check out this interesting railroad crossing in Vero Beach. It includes a sign that lights up over the road when trains come and it has a pedestrian crossing complete with gates. This is the Florida East Coast Railway ( FEC ) which is a Class 2 railroad that runs from Jacksonville, Florida to Miami, Florida. FEC obtained a fleet of 24 LNG modified locomotives in 2017. I have filmed them before but this is the first time that I have filmed them since Brightline started using FEC track.
The first train is a northbound FEC train that is booking! Look what happens right after the train passes me. The gates go up and before any cars could go through the crossing the gates go back down and a Brightline train flys past me. That was awesome! I have only seen that happen a couple of times before. Good thing that no cars tried to cross the tracks.
We take a close look at the railroad crossing and the train station while waiting for more trains. Several more trains passed and I filmed them at different angles to show as much of the crossing as possible. We also take a close look at the track and then head to the beach. We left just before it got dark and when I got a few blocks west of the tracks I heard an FEC train approaching southbound but I was unable to get back to the tracks in time. I knew I couldn't make it back in time so I continued on to Mulberry , Florida and listened to the train on the scanner.
