After 15 minutes of speed, it is necessary to set the reverse to 50%, the main regulator to 40%, the train will begin to accelerate and as it accelerates, it is necessary to set the reverse to 30-35%, when the pressure starts to grow and approaches the maximum, set the main regulator to 70% . After gaining 40-50 mph, reversing at 25, the main regulator is about 75. At a top speed of 60 mph, it reverses at 20, and the main steam regulator at 100.

Settings used posted below. Initial take off: Regulater 10%, Reverser 100% Forward (Forward 75). Speed equals 5mph: Regulator 15%, Reverser still 75 Foward. Speed equals 8mph: Regulator 20%, same Reverser setting. Speed equals 20mph: Regulator 100%, Reverser 30 Forward. Speed equals 25mph: Regulator 100%, Reverser 15 Foward. Final outcome: At times you may fill the pressure of the boiler completely using 15 on the Reverser. This is when you kinda play with only the Reverser, and constantly maintain cylinder pressure via increasing the gearing of the Reverser to 30, then back down to re-build the lost pressure.

i managed 111 on the trans pennine before destroying myself at huddersfield. then again i was going downhill hahaha did do a run on the same route + loco as yours and maxed out at 94.

Very good video. I guess one of the first things we all think of when driving the Jubilee is "How fast can I go?" if I hit the right combination of Regulator and Reverse. I'm curious about something: at the end of the video points and even a reward are awarded, for what appears to be a Scenario or at least a Timetable. How could I replicate this? I already have Spirit of Steam. If I also have Great Western Express, could I find these timetables or scenarios? Thank you very much and greetings

I tested the 6p(Jubilee Class) on summer set railway and if you do it right it can go 119mph and then for me it derailed.

If you noticed around 78 mph your wheels are slipping or more so your cylinder rods are not timing right because the pressure is different so affecting the drawing and pushing of the rods to the drive wheels. I think this is what’s happening for if you adjust the gears to the flow to the cylinders it will dissipate because the piston rods or timing to the speed other wise the rods will act as brake making this slip to the wheels,,I could be wrong but I came to this conclusion after doing the permitted 90mph in a empty 8f to rescue a broken down jubilee I made the mistake of not slowing the train down before applying drive,steam to the cylinders and the whole lot locked up. The speedometer was reading 300 plus in red with the wheel locked the piston rods was a blur I was meant to be doing 15 mph as I pass the jubilee. I was doing 90 plus still with the speedo still off the charts brakes on yet nothing,,I’d been trying from two miles back to slow. So this is why I have jumped to this conclusion. But it’s more like I’m crap at driving steam trains. I have done 80mph in a express tho arrived 4 mins late and done 100 miles in the jubilee class done me tier one but haven’t got me awards again,,so I must be doing something right. Mad tho comes to something when steam technology that has been around for over a 100 years and yet today gives so many head aches,,but I guess that’s why where here to find a cure. Good luck folks.

Hello! These were great machines! The speed records set for steam locomotives were over 200 kilometers per hour! I believe that in the modern world, steam locomotives can also be relevant. @@seanward4545 you might wanna keep an eye on the boiler pressure that could be a factor in why your going so slowly past 35 you probably need to lower the pressure so you use steam efficiently
