Route S-Bahn Vorarlberg

S-Bahn Voralberg is a starter route featured in Train Sim World 4. It is the first Austrian route in the game, as well as the first route to feature a national border crossing. The line features the main trunk of the Voralberg S-Bahn from Lindau Hbf, Germany to Bludenz, Austria, on which the network's S1 line runs. The route also features the branch to Lustenau, which sees use by S3 trains.
The route will come with the ÖBB 4024 on S-Bahn services, and the DB BR 185 in Railion livery on freight services. The Railpool BR 193 Vectron will also be visible on this route, with a scenario included. The SBB RABe 523 will also be seen as scenery traffic at Lustenau.
The Voralbergbahn is a railway that first opened in 1871 between Bludenz and Lochau, with an extension on the German side of the border to Lindau opening the following year. Also in 1872, a branch from Lauterach to St. Margrethen in Switzerland was opened, the Bahnstrecke St. Margrethen-Lauterach.
Initially owned and operated by the private Vorarlberger Bahn, the line did not prove to be profitable, and was nationalised in 1885, shortly after the then independent line was connected to the rest of the Austrian railway network.
The Voralbergbahn on the Austrian side was fully electrified in 1927, with Bahnstrecke St. Margrethen-Lauterach following in 1947, and the German side seeing electricity in 1954. Afterwards, a project to gradually double-track the line commenced, beginning with Bregenz to Lauterach in 1959 and finally reaching completion with Bregenz to Lauterach in 1995.
The 'S-Bahn Voralberg' network first appeared in 2005 as part of the branding for the brand-new Talent trainsets that were assigned to the line. Today the network consists of six lines across four nations.
