The Mallard was "new technology" at the time and was the main competitor for the Flying Scotsman. The Mallard had aerodynamics and was streamlined whereas the Flying Scotsman was all out power.

Hello! My six year-old loved this video. He asked me to tell you that it's the 'Mallard' not 'Mollard' or 'Mullard.' 😉 He's also asked if you can do this with the Clan Line (??)
11:22 the fastest steam train in the world is the PRR S1 6-4-4-4 Duplex that did minimum. 141 mph or 226 kmh while the mallard did only 126 mph or 203 kmh
Trains can't typically go through points at particularly high speeds. 100 is a bit ambitious even on special high speed lines, 60 to 80 is more like it even for very drawn out ones... normal points can be as low as 15mph, and have to be specially engineered for 25, 30, 45mph... which as well as its own instability is why Tornado turned over...
Lazer Jet, consider this an offer. I would like to recreate your intro in Rail simulator, a 2007 game . This game is the predessesor to train simulator.
