Thomas was based off the e2s however he was shortened for tv show. However the railway Series the books the show was based on had the E2 Style thomas.

I think for the finish line you should just do it so the engines have to go past a marked point so they dont need to drop any speed (I thought this would be better, also this is not a hate comment, Im just giving a suggestion)

actually Thomas is an E2 class TE ( TE means tank engine ) if you search on google what type of train he is. If you see the old picture the TAF series of books and show. All the E2 class TE trains witch were only 10 of them were scraped years before the TAF series was made. events were based on events from actual trains. next time you see a Thomas related thing just remember this comment. The E2 LBSC is the second type because Thomas was famous so they made two types of trains similar to Thomas 1. E2 LBSC 2. actual thomas train from day out with thomas

LaserJet I know who can take the mallard down the E2 tank engine connected to the jet train the E2 tank engine with the jet train the mallard would just be left in the dust you have to let the E2 tank engine win the race don't attach the mallard to the Jet train because if you let the Mallard win I won't be happy with you it would be really cool to see the E2 tank engine with the Jet train it reminds me about Thomas and Friends episode Thomas and the jet engine no I'm not asking for copyright I just never saw the E2 tank engine with the jet train

Thomas's top speed is 70mph LBSCR E2 top speed is 70mph too The pere Marquette 1225 (the real Polar Express) can run 70mph nickel plate road 765 can run 80mph he is stronger than pere Marquette 1225

In comparison Thomas was an improved design compared to his IRL counterpart that eliminates the flaws such as Coal bunker Smaller Size to accomodate tighter turns Smooth riding at high speeds And Braking

Andrew Ramsden the TV series changed the length originally in the precursor to the TVS , the RWS book series depicts thomas as very e2-like

It was no longer being used so it was left to rust so thats why they are remaking it and it will be in the usa.
