Hello and welcome to Train Simulator Classic!
Today we're going to be driving the absolutely fantastic Class 158 DMU, with the essential enhancement pack by Armstrong Powerhouse. This particular Class 158 is one of the Perkins engined variants and can be seen here operating an Abellio/Serco Northern Rail service set in 2015.
We'll be driving the service from Blackpool North through to Preston today, a nice 30 minute journey (ish) calling at Poulton-le-Fylde only. It's an overcast day which is fairly typical for the North West of England, and en route today you can expect to see plenty of the typical stock found in this neck of the woods!

The football pitch next to the line reminded me of the Giant's Causeway railway that goes through a golf course! Not round the course with fencing, just barges straight through.

The stanchions in Blackpool North siding were for lighting for the carriage cleaners at night. Salwick is pronounced Solwick

Most likely not, there's no map between Preston- Bradford and on to Leeds

I keep having problems trying to use a 6 car EMT mixed power 158 in free roam. I had it set up as a Cummins set with a 52XXX ID as the leading drivable vehicle (DMSL?) as the lead, followed by a Perkins unit, and finally another Cummins unit on the back (all the same way around). Are these not supposed to be compatible? I know most BSI units are incompatible with 165/166 but does this extend to Perkins 185s? I thought I had them running together before in Central trains livery but I could be wrong. When I tried driving it at first the controls in the Cummins were not able to be unlocked. I went in to editor and noticed the Perkins unit had lost the "a" on the end of the ID which both Cummins units had, I tried adding it back but it just crashes every time I try and hit play after that. What is going on with this?

the id is probebly not correct, that or base content is missing or you pirated it

@@bigdikboiCJ It is definitely not pirated & all the models & sounds seem to load fine. I have also used fictitious IDs successfully before (IDs that were never on158s, not just liveries never worn by that unit) and these worked fine. The units I just used are also accurate EMT/EMR fleet according to Wikipedia, (sets are Cummins '806, Perkins '856, and Cummins '773) all with original AP EMT liveries (no reskins). I don't know what is going on.

@@FM60260 u cant use 158 number 856 coz of the same reason they took world trade buildings out of flight sims as there was law passed that they cant have real life disaster replicated in games and 158856 killed two girl in 2005... also its the same rule why u cant drive further west from manchester piccadilly now that u could in the old manchester liverpool via warrington as that route is old and was published before the attack... they arnt allowed to publish routes in with the building that it happend so u will never see that track in train sim classic or train sim world

@@bigdikboiCJ Are you on about the 2017 attack or the derailment of 47500? Manchester Victoria is in the Huddersfield line released October 2022. Liverpool to Manchester via Warrington is also still available but was released after 47500 derailing. It also doesn't make sense for 158856 to be effectively banned from TSC as there have been many other serious incidents where the rolling stock can still be used in TSC. I can spawn 37069 (albeit pre-refurb) with the AP Class 37 part 2 and that was the one the driver was killed a while ago after someone thew a brick through the window, similarly with 37515. 142003 was the lead unit in a serious incident where an 86 or 87 ran in to the back and that has its own LSL/GMPTE livery variant (I can't remember the back unit). I am pretty sure you can also use 91132 (023) and 365526 which were both involved in high profile accidents too.

@@FM60260 158856 got removed coz it was kids involved and died... the 2017 were loads were killed i dont know if u still can buy it probly not but it was between manchester oxford road and deansgates so it wont be in any more ts routes after liverpool manchester via warrengton
