It has to be said the Huddersfield to Leeds section is a damn site better than the Huddersfield to Manchester section, minus Batley signal box of course haha. Still I don’t think it’s a patch on pennine pacers freeware route, or if payware is more your thing the Hope Valley from Just Trains
@@JoeDobsongaming And the missing Hollywood sign @ Batley. It's like doing Paris and missing the Eiffel Tower, kind of 😅 And the sorry excuse for Diggle signal box is just terrible! I've just picked up the Hope Valley extension, can't wait to give it a run.
Typical lazy lazy Dovetail Games, they do this day in day out, they think they would get something right, that is very rare. Alan Thomson is gonna rip this apart!!!..Least with JT we get 3D track. DTG we always have to wait for AP to update there tack pack. And no Felix & Bolt, they will be pulling there fur out!!!
1 flaw I did notice was that I didn't get the 47, 08 and the 158 straight away it's okay now but I was scared it hadn't installed properly Another thing is why doesn't the fence at Leeds platform 6 go the full way? Also kinda annoyed the John Smith Stadium and Elland Road weren't in for scenery as you can see both grounds from the Huddersfield line There's also too many AI trains on quick drive for its own good I was driving the Pacer from Mirfield to Huddersfield and all the signals were red for every train coming in and out of Huddersfield I also went past an yellow signal when it should've been red Other than that I have enjoyed making scenarios on my local route. There are a few more errors on this route but still playable imo Just don't do Mirfield to Huddersfield on quick drive 💀
8:18 - Yes Joe that is the M60! Looks more like an A road, not as impressive as a Motorway. (As you said). Also that building that you thought was IKEA is Sainsbury’s, would be a bit stupid to put a little warehouse as ikea! Anyway great video as always! P.s. it would be great if we had you on a Dovetail stream! 😂 Final question- do you have any suggestions for a UK TS route that is modern and the file sizes are low ish. Thanks for replying!
It appears to have been rushed to the market, triggered by the release of the Hope Valley line. Maybe they wanted to steal their thunder by getting this out first but failed miserably? Then compounded it with the release day gremlins.
Let me see what they did here was simply modernize an existing route that was made in TSW3 Northern transpennine which was made set in the 1980s then release the modernized version in TSC
DTG support does not like any negative emails or comments no matter how polite they are. They are saying the game and stock is working properly but the forums say otherwise. Much as I wanted the route I am in a frame of mind to save £24.99 and wait till I see an update or wait for the sale. They never sorted out the class 323 despite the promises. So hence despite sales of the past I have not invested my hard earnt cash into DTG coffers.
I would probably agree that saving the £24.99 is the best thing, it’s such a shame that a route with such potential is such a let down. I think I’m looking forward to OTS’s TransPennine route as it seems to have been in development much longer, and probably was made with more love than this has.
@@JoeDobsongaming Thank you for your reply to my observations. Such a shame but I don't think DTG is the DTG we all had respect for. Seems like a lot of staff have gone and it seems to me that it's a case of take it or leave it.
To add to the list of errors, the tram track at Victoria isn't electrified in the track's properties and there aren't any portals on either end of the tram line, so you can place down PenninePacer's trams, but they can't go anywhere. When making my 185 scenario from Man Vic to Leeds, I did notice a lot of missing siding markers along the route at Manchester Victoria Reversing Siding; Collyhurst St; Huddersfield station and at Holbeck depot. What is it with DTG and missing markers? And like everyone else, I am really disappointed with the crime that Manchester Piccadilly isn't included, as historically most trains from Huddersfield went to/through Piccadilly.
Thanks for posting. Appreciate your work and despite not being a fan of DTG policy this does look like a route I will buy because it is my local line. I do not expect to get a 100 percent correct working digital model of 40 miles of railway and 3 cities with every last detail perfect (including chairs in waiting rooms and how to get in there). I'd be very surprised to see my motorbike parked just outside the station in Leeds where it was every day during the period modelled. In all honesty I think we expect too much from route builders on this old and clunky program and think it's a bit unfair to over examine. This route, as you presented it certainly gives the impression and vibe of the line. What is essentially a 15 year old program will never deliver more than impressions and I feel that the failure to maintain a forward path for this program is DTG's big sin. I watched it again without your commentary and found it a great deal more enjoyable without the negativity. DTG or not... a lot of work went into this from someone. It probably wasn't senior management. I build routes for this program and the constant battle is always people who want the line to have another spur, branch... another period, loco, siding. They expect every dimension to be correct - Huddersfield station - yeah - it's too long... yeah another line comes in at the wrong gradient. To get the level of accuracy you're pining for you need a team of photographers, surveyors with Theodolites and an interview with the almighty about why he put the hills there. And you expect all that for 25 quid? 50p a mile of track? . Agree with you about Leeds Station. Fantastic to see it and really good model. Your video's technical output was amazingly good. Would you please share your specifications on how you got this to run like silk?. Once again, thankyou for your work.
The 185 looks superb on this route would like to get it but no Picc is deal breaker because the 185s do MAN-HUD as stoppers these days. You aren't being pedantic at all as someone who has traversed this route many times going to and from MIA and Mossley annoyed me!
It's a bit naff isn't it? Watching this reminded me of wishing I'd have gotten a shout to fully record a 185 though. It was a bit of a piece together job of different recordings sadly
Re: The original DTG stream of the route - you're really being too polite; Jamie absolutely hasn't got a clue - on any stock or routes other than Swiss, which he has an interest in. He's utterly clueless and doesn't even put the basic effort / research in, before driving a line/stock on their streams.
I very enjoyed the video Joe I feel right at home with this addon and when you was flying through dewesbury that was ace yeah there’s a few niggls but it will do
