Welcome to another trip report! In this video we are traveling on the Voralpen Express line from Lucerne to St. Gallen, in Switzerland 🇨🇭 onboard the brand new Traverso train from SOB, built by Stadler Rail AG. These trains also run on the Treno Gottardo routes from Basel and Zürich to Arth-Goldau, Lugano and Locarno. The first new trains have been in circulation since June 2019. Hope you enjoy!

Nice to see that SOB themeselves are even commenting on your video. I love their trains, I personally commute with the flirt almost everyday and I can't wait to be a Lokführer (Engine Driver) one day

Amazing video! These trains “Traverso” are not commuter trains but long distance interregios and Voralpen Express. The commuter version (flirt3) runs on some regional routes

I live in Einsiedeln and when ever i travel on train I use the SOB trains. They are very wonderful

How much did the ride cost?

Hi Piyush! The ride was included in my first class Interrail pass. The train fares in Switzerland usually vary according to the advance with which you buy the ticket and the train departure time. I don't know the exact ticket price but you can check the SBB website for more information. ➡️ sbb.ch

Thats not an commuter train, Its an InterRegio train for regional service but still a nice video👍

Aye we’re getting these trains in the UK with an operator called Greater Anglia! We’ll be getting alternatives called the 745 and 755!

Very enjoyable video Marco, many thanks. We did that same journey in 2018 on older SOB rolling stock. It's a lovely route and well worth doing. Would also love to travel on the new SOB/SBB FLIRT service from Basel/Zurich to Locarno. We now have some similar FLIRT trains in the UK working services in East Anglia (Essex/Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambridgeshire). They have also received some very good reviews from travellers.
