After the Foundation Course of CSE selected probationers, the officer trainees leave for their respective training centres in December.
While the IAS officers start with their ‘Winter Study Tour’ of around 2 months from December end to February. This is known as Bharat Darshan inspired from Mahatma Gandhi’s Bharat Yatra.
The IAS probationers are divided into 9-10 groups with each group going on their pre-specified route. Veritably called so, Bharat Darshan indeed is a voyage with glimpes of varied facets of culture, society and places across the length and breadth of the country.
The different components of the tour are :
10-days army attachmemt
Indian Air Force and Indian Navy attachments
Visit to NGOs, PSUs
Visit and learn about the working of local authorities, industries, self-help groups and municpal corporations
Visit to parliamentary proceedings and one-week attachment with Bureau of Parliamentary Studies at Lok Sabha
Tribal attachment.
National Disaster Response Force attachment
Visit to National Parks and Sanctuaries
From the hilly terrain of Jammu and Kashmir to the vast sea coasts of Andamans to the agricultural fields and industrial belts, it help the Officer trainees understand the country amazingly. They learn about best administrative and industrial practices. #upsc #ias #lbsnaa
