The only extensions on RU-vid are either 7 minutes or 10 hours and that's stupid. So I'm going to provide extensions that you can actually use and download unlike these other idiots. #Nintendo #Pokemon
Hate being that guy but I just want to say, this isn't retro. People making 8-bit music back then isn't retro, it would be considered retro if they were to use it now because it would be a choice now. Back then music on a Gameboy just couldn't do anything more than this for an OST, they definitely did great with what they had though and it's depressing how terrible most OSTs are now. Both film and games have garbage OSTs now because corporate control kinda killed the drive people used to have, no one cares enough to make a score they personally take pride in cuz they're too alienated from their own craft. I mean, the 90s had crazy amounts of corporate control over media already but not like it is now, it's in a completely different world now. But then, another thing is that people tend to need limitations to truly thrive creatively. When you can make *anything* , a person tends to be overwhelmed and doesn't know where to start - each path *could* be just as good as the next and you tend to just go a half-baked route or just kinda do a little bit of everything and it ends up just meh. When all you can make is 8bit music with 3 total tracks (just a bass, melody, and Harmony) - and with almost no possible choices in tone variety or anything - you go in with that limitation set already and it puts you in a completely different headspace. You're not clouded with the fact that you could make an endless list of possible pieces of music, you got an 8bit score to make so you you're just going straight at it. It's really really effective to force oneself to work within boundaries because you just become more creative about it.
@@dudeman5303 Your dumbass comment reminds me of people who try to argue 'we shouldn't call them classical musicians because it wasn't classical back then.' STFU.
New pokemon games are so fucking weak. Opponents where savage in the originals, kicking you down when you're beat coming out of a cave, talking bad shit bullying you, and that fucking low health bar with this epic MIDI sound track...that shit made you build character. Restarting form last check point until you won, and the exhilarating feeling of winning with that red bar beeping, holy shit. This is why I can't get into the new games. They're so fucking week, you'd never get that type thrill out of them.
It's becaus of its chord progression. When you think it's gonna release into a major chord, it add more tension. It gives tension when you more need to release.
There's something about the tone of this song in its original chiptune iteration that the future rearrangements and covers fail to capture. There's like an air of desperation and determination to this song that goes missing.
Because their idea of "updating" music is to add more layers of chaotic sound with crazier instruments and more filters for that "omg new and improved", "totally cinematic" appeal. It sounds more technically impressive, but it loses the identity and emotion of the originals, and you no longer get those raised hairs when you hear it. This song and many others evolved from "desperation", "determination", "all seems lost" or some other profound emotion to a cacophonous mess that bleeds together and blurs the distinctive punches the originals had. They try way too hard to make it sound "better" but end up missing the point, the message, the originals conveyed so well.
Probably the same fool who thought having never ending beeping when your Pokemon was low on HP was a good idea. So glad B/W changed it to a unique music track and Sw/Sh made it just three beeps.
I constantly forget how good this battle theme is. Usually not one of the first battle themes I think of with this series but damn when I go and listen to it I remember how it is. Like weirdly enough I don’t get the feeling that it’s like lighthearted and casual. Feels like something that would play in a more important fight. Like you’re hanging on with anything either meaning failure or victory. I think 0:57 gives me that feeling the most Kinda wish the games went back to showing that while Pokémon can be close companions, they’re dangerous. Legends kinda leans back in to them being more of a threat and I like that. The Pokémon world in game with the earlier titles was a lot more mysterious and I miss that
A really large Pokemon soundtrack collection will be amazing. I'd totally buy it. Even if I don't play the games much anymore their music is one thing I can always enjoy.
The sound I hear in my head in every professional dispute I've ever had as a manager. It's probably why I OWN. Nothing makes me feel remotely as tense or determined as this memory does
Which one is that? Tbh I don't think I liked any of the battle music after the original games. I'm curious which one you're talking about cuz maybe it's one I just don't remember cuz it's been a while
@@kavenoff777 but it sounds way too light hearted not enough significant meaning or deep emotion to it's music it doesn't hold a candle to this or pokemon crystal.
The way this theme managed to add to the intensity of being in a battle is just amazing. Having that blasting in the background when you and who you are battling with are down to your last Pokémon. You've barely got any HP or PP for moves left, looking for any tactic you can to pull of the win
Elite Four Bruno wants to fight! Elite Four Bruno sent out Onix! Enemy Onix used Rage! Enemy Onix used Harden! Enemy Onix used Slam! Enemy Onix used Rock Throw! Red sent out Squirtle! Squirtle used Water Gun! Enemy Onix fainted! Bruno: Why? How could I lose? Every gamer ever: Uh, because you're bad? You aren't even a real E4 member.
@@KingStr0ng I've lost to Bruno quite a few times, sadly; if you go in with non-Flying physical attackers, he's actually not that bad, the two Onix aside. In particular, I lost several times to him on my solo minimum battles Tauros run. His Normal typing combined with his awful Special stat meant that one Hi Jump Kick from Hitmonlee = gg me. Then Machamp in particular is super dangerous when he's not acting like an idiot and decides to actually use Submission...which in R/B is almost never; instead, let's opt for Fissure and Leer. >_> But yeah, for shame. I'll never live that one down. :(
0:55 ‘Item’ Poke Balls x5 “Cannot capture enemy’s Pokémon!” ‘Run!’ “Cannot run from a trainer battle!” “Son of a bitch.” I wonder how many will get this reference
Thank you for not adding disgusting amounts of reverb to the song. Im so sick of the other uploads that ruin the song and sterilize it/weaken it with reverb
*Bouncer wants to fight* *Bouncer used "Hand on chest", Sgt Duckys is confused!* *Sgt Ducky tried to move but he was too confused* *Bouncer used "ID!? Sgt Duckys self-esteem dropped!"* *Sgt Ducky tried proving age without ID, it doesn't effect bouncer* *Bouncer used "You're not coming in" Its super effective!* *Sgt Duckys rage is building* *Sgt Ducky tried using complain...its not very effective* *Bouncer called for backup, two more bouncers join the battle!* *Bouncer 2 and 3 used escort, Sgt Ducky fled from battle!*
I just want to take the gym battle & trainer battle music from Red, Blue, Yellow, & Japanese Green then literally dub it over every current Pokémon game.
I made a dnd campaign and for the first rival fights (and the ones in the upcoming future) I played this song for them. That pidgey I gave the rival would not die tho.
I wonder if red still hears this when he enters battles in the present, like he fights you in the battle tree, and this is playing for both red and blue.
@@Cecnorthernohio It's probably not a glitch, go look up the cries for yourself to see if they sounded like it. Gen 1 has few Pokemon that don't repeat cries
Cause they grew lazy. Right now they feed off nostalgia and their brand name. Mostly remake they have been releasing out recently. And bad quality ports. They could have made an effort to made those ports better . Talking about super mario 3d all stars mostly. It has been proven to be merely just emulated roms , of their own game.
For me, Kanto and Yotho has the Best ost in all pokémon games. Blue's champion theme, the wild pokémon theme, Red and Lance's champion theme, the Victory Road, Lavander Town, etc. The rest since 4th generation are more basic, specially a lot of Unova (only the legendaries themes and the gym theme saves).
Idk if it is just me, but i don't gave attention to this theme while battling normal trainers, i wanted to finish those battles the most quickly possible even by avoiding some trainers, sometimes. I just realised the theme's intensity when battling the elite 4 and this is the time i felt that this theme is real serious, insane.
