Very nice. This dog kinda gave me the feeling of " I am so lucky to be out of the shelter and in these amazing surroundings with this human that I really do not want to mess it up coz this makes me happy." 🥰
i agree the level of difficulty is a consideration. so far this one is my fav test. ian was great too with 4 dogs, really all the trainers have been super. credit to the pro trainer course through shield k9. i wish i could afford it.
6 weeks out of shelter. Impressive. I have a Pitt looks just like this one. Have had him for 6 mos. We've made lots of progress but We would have probably failed the other dog situation.
Amazing work on a dog that has seen nothing of the world for god knows how long before he pulled it out. Think he did use e-collar, prob cos of yappy dog, which is fair & I also would have rewarded after the kids cos he done well & was getting a bit stressed by it :) he'll be an amazing dog when there's more training under his belt :)
Thanks! I’m the trainer in this video. My timing for touching the e collar remote was terrible. Whenever I was recording this test I would get nervous haha not sure why I reached for the dial but I adjusted it. I do regret not rewarding during this test. Definitely would have helped! Since recording this test we’ve been to the same area many times practicing things in case we failed this test. He’s a lot more animated now and will actually play tug with his ball ina crowd of people. He’s such a nice dog.
@@bradtremblay2111 ah, I can get like that too 🙂 videos I've found are a great way to watch yourself back, spot mistakes or things you could improve on. I do hope you find him a lovely home 😊
great job! would love to see what he was like prior to training. to me it looks like the dog is uncomfortable with the suroundings. i thought scruff was up at the begining, but it stayed consistant through the video, so maybe this is how he his hair is. tail was low untill he gave some handler help, dog perked up and wagged tail. im still pretty green, so feel free to disagree with me. i love this video as i have a client dog who looks very similar in public at the moment. i would expect as time goes on this dog will become more animated and happy looking. im super impressed with the reliablity the dog showed. i would have loved to see a reward event, but i guess thats not part of tthe test. can you add reward event to the test?
Hi! I’m the trainer in this video. Super windy that day so hair probably up because of that. Prior to training this dog was chasing kids, squirrels, geese and birds with intensity. Zero leash skills. He’s generally pretty happy in this area however at the time of the test it was busier the usual and we had walked through the car area once already. He was more energetic earlier but messed up so I restarted the test. I regret not using a reward. I didn’t use the ecollar at all but at the beginning I adjusted the dial…bad timing lol was just nervous and fiddling with it.
I had him Downtown in the same area 2 days ago at a fair filled with kids and he was playing ball tug and looking so happy! Should’ve recorded the test again! Haha. He’s a lot more relaxed in a park setting as well. Thinking back he would’ve looked better had a did the test there.
@@bradtremblay2111 oh ya wind makes bad hair days. lol. joking aside, that does explain what i think im seeing. i only really commented to help with algarythems, and viewers. thanks for the reply! i think you did an epic job!
Wow … that was impressive Brad! Hopefully this is just the start of you going into shelters and working with the perceived aggressive dogs … so they can be re-homed and not euthanized because staff don’t know how to work with them. Thanks for sharing that Haz! Not as impressive as rhetoric British chap but probably more important what Brad is doing. Kind of like what you did for a Kevin. Had you not helped him, he would have been euthanized. 🙏🙌✝️
Thank you! He definitely was up for euthanasia. He had been at the shelter for 4 weeks, super friendly dog so that’s why he was given more time. This shelter euthanizes many dogs everyday due to over crowding. It a shame because there are so many good dogs there. A friend of mine fosters 20-30 a year. Mostly bullies.
@@bradtremblay2111 It’s truly a sad state of affairs … but then what do we expect in a fallen world. Be nice if it was everybody out to help everybody, instead of a populous that’s become so disconnected. Glad there’s people like you out there who still have a heart and care for the forgotten ones … probably to no fault of their own! You make a difference … believe it! ✝️
