Gabe has dyspraxia which is a condition that affects his coordination and motor planning. That's why he is working on various skills with his trainer Aaron. Aaron is doing strength training, weight lifting, and teaching Gabe a variety of sports. On this day Gabe was learning how to shoot a basketball. Watching Aaron teach Gabe all of these sport skills is awesome to see! I am so proud of Gabe and all the progress he continues to make!

Gabe must be learning to know and trust the trainer bc I am noticing he is doing the very close eye contact thing with him now 😂😊❤

Just cannot find the words how heartwarming it is to watch Gabe learn sports skills from Aaron. It appears Gabe is gaining confidence and I find it rare to actually witness a professional like Aaron and his accomplishment showing Gabe what confidence is, teaching it, and getting GREAT results. Praise definitely to Mom too! Yay to Aaron 🤩Yay to Gabe! Yay to Mom! 😃

Gabe is being very vocal. You can tell he loves it. He said he wanted to focus on more sports in one of his spelling days😀

@WilliamBurns-lf1mg - Not sure I understand your response to my comment. The point was he was enjoying the activity because he was being vocal with his sounds. We all know he is "non verbal".

It is such a joy to watch Gabe learn new things. I have a feeling that he "plays" with his coach a bit when he catches the ball, pauses, and then walks over to drop it in the basket.

He is gifted at dance and rhtymn. My son was born with Aspergers with learning disorders inability to communicate, multiple disorders. But gifted at swimming and movement. His communication now is beyond, what I could have hoped for. But his movement became affected by fibromyalgia, and he also gave up swimming. But took up learning, now hes a lifelong learner and is tackling his own learning disorders. He loves learning. So no doubt this young man will get there too.

These things can be trained and it's also up to Gabe to decide to improve communication and change some things. I've seen some other autistic boy with a very strong eye contact now and he said that some therapy helped him with that but that he also wanted to change these things for him and so he did. He also speaks very well and overcomes his stimming, solid eye contact staying still and focusing on being articulate when interacting with someone and showing them that you are there with them and are paying attention

So good to see that Gabe is learning skills like sports with his trainer and trust him and he can making noises a kind of speaking and express himself ! ! And shopping with his mama and order food and cooking! I think that he is eating better, and looks to his food before eating! Bravo ! I do love to see him beloved by his family ,think that he is happy in his own way and sometimes unhappy because he is very smart and has so many feelings in his heart and soul ! Dear Gabe … how good for me that I have a chance to follow you , have the opportunity to learn a lot from you! Thank you so much for that ,you touch my heart and wish you all the luck and love in your life 💫💫💫🥰🙏🙏🙏

Just a hunch to try... show Gabe that the basketball hoop is a circle like his belt (or wrap the belt around the rim). He might be more attracted to the idea.

Has the mirror been there? The movement in the mirror is giving him more things to have to process. Gabe's tall enough to know that he doesn't have to shoot; he can dunk. 😊 He's great at catching that ball.
